PS3 will smash the x360 in terms of power.

It has more power, more ram, more graphics power, (better design; subjective, I know), larger development base and more advanced processor.

Apple is using close to what Xbox has in that they use the power PC G5 (which is what the three core xbox config is based on) However sony is using what apple are looking at for the G6 with the cell architecture.

This time xbx doesn't have the 2-3 times more powerful cpu safe net, nor does it have the ram advantage nor does it have the graphics card advantage. The PS3 comes from the largest gaming nation in the world.

I wouldn't say that there's not prizes for guessing who's going to come out on top, but the with "apple reject designed" x360 and the much more palatable ps3 (yes, even the boomerang controllers with the oddly placed anaglogue sticks).

having said all that though., i'll still buy both of them

Does Forza motorsport have the car range or tracks of GT4? and from what I heard you can rice up your car in it, instantly loosing credit.

I've heard that the new X-Box isn't backwards compatible with the older games but the PS3 will be able to play old games for eith PS1 or PS2. Can anyone confirm?

I think it has less tracks.

I wouldn't say you can 'rice' up your car, but you can certainly paint your car. I've seen some amazing paint schemes out there. I'd say all the body modifications you can do (that are functional in that they allow for adjustable downforce) are probably the same in GT4.

paint mods and stuff like that would be awesome in a driving game....GT4 is good in its own right, but its hardly a simulator, and not the most realistic 1 thats for sure.

the rim selection in GT4 is pretty poor as well. you have the same choice of boring rims no matter which car you use, and there is no option to increase in size either

GT4 is a driving game. Painting cars, putting different wheels on and adding stupid body kits has nothing to do with driving.

bouncing off walls at 300km/h has nothing to do with real life driving either, but they put that in

They put that in because if they did have damage they wouldn't have half the cars they have.

i know why they did it...but it is a major factor in a driving SIMULATOR, not a driving game....but they advertise it as the most realistic driving SIMULATOR....

Dont go writing the Xbox 360 off yet, its video card is better than an X800 and it has a multi-cored CPU, going to be better than any PC u can get for the price...
I know i will be buying one..

"driving" a car with 2 little control sticks and buttons on a controller has nothing to do with real life driving either, but they put that in too. neither is looking at a tv screen whilst sitting on a couch... my god they shouldnt have let us do that either!

if you wanna be anally retentive about what makes a true sim you may as well just buy a real car. there are limitations to games, and there always will be.

getting back on topic, style wise i feel the new xbox is a step backwards. if sony can deliver what they promise they will also be quite far ahead...

i'm not really a microsoft fan, and as such i dont feel a very big urge to buy their products... and i only use windows because i need it for cad and graphics programs

right...thats why its a simulator, and its simulated on a console....add a steering wheel and pedals, and that solves the 2 little control stick issue.

dont advertise it as "the most realistic driving simulator" and there wont even be an issue.
