Plua he is running 19" rims and rubber as well ... so that might throw things out a little too.

Think I found some answers re my setup.
The mechanics finished installing my exhaust system today, and started the suspension changeover. I stopped by this afternoon to have a look. Seems that the rear springs I was running may not be superlows at all. They look like sawn-off standard ones. The coils are thinnner than the XR springs I am having stalled, and there are more coils per spring. They appear to have been sawn off at one end, and there is no coating over the cut. It looks really sus. This may explain why I was so disappointed with the setup. I'll post pics when I get the car back. The front springs, however, definitely seem to be genuine Herrod spec superlows, as they at least both have Herrod tags on tthem. The rear shocks seem to have T-series part numbers, in that they finish in 18080-AE. I haven't been able to get a clear look at the part number on the front shocks. So between sawn off original rear springs, T-series rear shocks, Herrod-spec front superlows and unknown spec front shocks, its no wonder it was such a freaking disaster and why I was so ****ed off. The replacement springs definitely seem to be the genuine XR8 article. The replacement shock absorbers are brand new Munroe GT gas. (I got talked out of fitting Sensotracs by both another member and the Munroe supplier). Tomorrow I'll know whether this is finally the fix I've been chasing. |

LOL. Thanks JC, I think I'll keep the exhaust. :hihi:
But you can have my old springs if you want.: Nahhh...I wouldn't do that to anybody. I think they're going straight into the Simsmetal bin parked outside the workshop door. |

XR6 VCT ST
Sits 650 Front, 680 Rear (with sub box and empty tank, so, equivalent of full tank) Have a look at http://picasaweb.google.com/ClontarfX to see how it sits (on 18's) |
