Thumbs down Whistling Sound??

NOT like the TV ad, when accellerating my ED Wagon whistles which is annoying. Have noticed the previous owner has drilled series of holes along the underside of the air intake scoop. Any ideas to remedy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance
Paul.

Grab some tape and tape the holes over firstly to see if thats the source of the noise

Taped up the holes and seemed to be much less noticeable, I think I read somewhere that a later model air scoop which allows more flow improves engine efficiency, maybe this will fix noise, and explains why previous owner drilled the holes in the first place. Any one got any ideas?
Cheers Paul.

You would be wanting an XH snorkle, and you will have to cut off the top of the shroud part for the snorkle to fit.
