bout 165-175rwkw,

mine with 86,000 pulled 175rwkw stock.
depends on dyno and stuff though, auto's tend to make less power though

Manuals make a lot more than the autos. Filter $100, Edit $1400 & Exhaust $400 - $800.

i payed to much for everything lol. at the time i got my edit, the flash tuners were still $999 can get them now for $600 so my edit was around the $1600, k&n filter was $110, cat back exhaust was about 800, full custom 2.5inch could of got cheaper if i chose cheaper mufflers, and then the hi flow cats were $250 each.

so to go from 175 to 202rwkw is about $3000,

definately can get cheaper though, id shop around for tuners i know know of tuners that can do the same if not better job for alot less than what i payed.
exhaust the same aswell, i went through kpm for this as i thought this would be the best idea,a normal exhaust joint could do the same job for alot cheaper, probably could get full cat back with hi flo cats for around $1000 if you shopped around.

Definitely get a decent exhaust. My mate's stock mint condition auto XR8 220 pulled 161rwkw. My 200kw TE made up a lot of that difference with an exhaust and made 158. Need to let them breath.

My AU3 220 auto went from 152rwkw(stock) to 184rwkw with HPC coated tri-y pacies, S/S cats, full S/S twin 2.5" difilippo system, K&N filter, plus edit. The actual kw figures of course are all relative as you know. Just get all your runs done on the same dyno and you can't go wrong. -craig

The stock headers on an XR 220, become a restriction at about 250 - 260 flywheel kilowatts. I recommend changing them if you are looking to get 200 at the wheels. As for the cats I'm running std cats, and pushing 201rwkw

Full twin 2.5" Difillipo system? How much and where'd you get it? Difillipo said to me they didn't make a twin system for the AU.

G&D have done all my work, I paid for all the exhaust work in full so I don't know the price for each component. Its been about 2yrs since it was done, maybe they stopped making it. I could be wrong but I think it is the same system that Herrods had listed as their T3 upgrade system. It looks stock from the rear because it has twin chrome tips as before but slightly larger in diameter. Not even noticeable to the untrained eye. -craig

The factory headers is the 220's are not bad at all. I think they work very well, a nice aftermarket twin system in my vehicle made a worthwhile improvement in both note and performance.
I don't know about the single systems and how they perform.

I think its debatable if aftermarket headers on a stock vehicle really make all that much difference, changing the exhaust yes but headers not so sure.

I now have have Pacemaker PH4001's (Tri-y) installed, they make some difference in mid range but in hindsight I would not have bothered and looked elsewhere for more power before changing headers.

This is on a manual, an auto may be different.

A better option could be if changing headears stick with 4-1's, in my experience on a stock 220 the Try-y's are restrictive at higher revs, thats just in my experience, others may have different results/opinions.

As far as cats go not sure on this, many think the standard cats are good enough, they probably are, Tickford did a damn good job with these 220's.

Hope this is some assistance to you.

well the exhaust place that did my system stuffed up the first time, they did twin 2 1/4 into a single 2 1/2 inch system, went ok but i think it was restricted up top end. and it didnt sound anything like i wanted it to. so i took it back and said this is not what i paid for. they agreed and put on a twin 2 1/2 inch system it might of lost a tad take off but the note is well worth it.

Thats one option but by the time the mufflers are removed and replaced you might as well change the whole thing, the stock system is not bad, 2 1/4" to the muffs then 2".

I went with a 2 1/4" straight through with high flow mufflers and no resonator, kept the factory cats, note with the factory headers was very good but changed to a deeper tone when I had aftermarket extractors installed.

I like a twin system on a V8, don't know if the singles perform better or not but for note a twin system wins me over.

I have a similar system. Twin 2.5 inch. It sounds awesome as well. Don;t know/care about any performance gains or losses because the sound is what I wanted.

We all love our Narooma blue 220's though huh!

twin cat back 2.5" sounds like the way to go.

i've been told a 3" would drone and the 2 1/4 would be too small?

I'm 99% sure that HM headers are what came standard on T3s. They are certainly better than stock, but not the cheapest option around. Most of the T3 guys in NSW swear by Liverpool exhausts' Hurricane extractors, and most others (5.0 brigade) swear by Pacemaker 4001s.

One of my mates has the Pacemaker comps on his AU2 XR8 manual, with single 3" system, one centre muffler and one rear resonator/hotdog - the thing is a rocket, and sounds great as well.

HM made the extractors for the T-series but the ones they sell for the aftermarket are quite different. From memory the person I spoke to at HM reckoned the aftermarket ones gave much better torque & about 8kws top end.
