Anybody know the acceleration figures in the HSV range with the new LS3 6.2 litre that went on sale in April?

Probably not much. They're torque restricted because HSV use wimpy gearboxes. The 10kW won't do as much as if the full 575Nm were allowed to play would...
Though looking at the Corvette's, LS2 (400hp 400ftlb or 299kW 542Nm) vs LS3 (430hp 424ftlb or 321kW 575Nm)... The LS2 C6 pulls 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and does the quarter in 12.6. The LS3 C6 pulls 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and does the quarter in 12.5.

Will be interesting to see how they go with a full weight VE, will probably still beat the FG GT-P though, I hope the GT-P can beat it 0-100km though, the LS3 can have the 1/4.

The FG F6 is going to blow this thing away.
I think also that the FG XR6 Turbo will still be quicker than the LS3 just like it is of the 6.0 HSV. You would be a very happy FG XR6 Turbo owner knowing that your car is a "bread and butter" sedan and it beats a "premium" performance car that cost 20 grand more and has 47 more kilowatts! :-) |

The F6 has 565Nm@1950rpm, the in-gear acceleration will be like having rockets strapped to you car!!

How can the F6 hit that much torque so low down? Must have virtually no lag at all??? |

also upped the compression a bit, so even b4 the turbo comes on the motor by itself is already making more

Always amazes me how the GM powerplants always make much less RWKW than the FORD units. The new LS3 barely makes more than the B series 290 Boss...........????
The TORQUE and HP under the curve however is V good..........I guess this is where the difference in the stock motors is. The B series BOSS is peakier and combined with that joke of a rear end 2.7 gearing in the auto....... : Hopefully the new 315 will spread the TORQUE and HP more evenly to finally overtake the LS powerplant for acceleration and in gear driveability.........from stock. |

To attempt to answer the question. Youde think a 6.2 would have to be able to run a 13.0 or 13.1 Surely, perhaps even 12.99.
I suppose we'll find out very soon when Wheels and Motor get their hands on them. |

Mid 5's sounds about right for a big heavy HSV.
