Default reversing lights and manual gearbox, not playing ball

ok ive had my conversion done and the only niggle is that whenever im not in a gear the reverse lights come on. was following dad home and you get a nice flash whenever you change a gear. for now they are just hanging loose in the boot. anyone done a conversion come across this problem?

Seeing as you paid a pro to do the conversion, I would suggest that this is his problem.

Otherwise, probably a faulty switch. Shouldn't be expensive.

The reverse wires have been plugged into the neutral switch. If you jack up the car and look on the passengers side of the gearbox there are two wires going to connectors at the top, and two wires half way down - just swap them over.

the lights do still come on when i put it in reverse though.

in that case I would look at the plug between the gearbox loom and the car loom (rectangular plug at the back of the engine bay).

thanks for the tips mate. the reverse wasnt coming on actually but ive switched the plugs on the side of the box and its all good now.
