Default Titanic-The Artefact Exhibition

http://titanicmelbourne.com/

Just came across the ad in the Herald Sun today, Thought i'd post and see who was planning on going. I can't wait to see the stuff they will have on display, I have always been facinated by the engineering marvels of the past I beleive what man was able to build before our current technology was amazing.

Known about it for a few weeks now...

Tickets already purchased, going on the 15/5.

Wanted to go opening day on the 14/5, but boss was too tight to give me the one day off.

I'm a mad Titanic Nutter, I love everything about her.

My only problem is that its in Melbourne and I'm in Adelaide, I'm not sure if finances are going to allow me to make the journey to see it all :(

I've always wanted to go down on one of the subs to look at her, priced it up once, was something like $18k for a berth on the ship plus ONE sub dive down, with all the scientists etc. I was in email correspondence for a short while regarding this with Dr Robert Ballard (he led the expedition that found the wreck).

Your not alone on both counts and unfortunatley I have a 4 day holiday in Melbourne and Geelong the week before it opens. Why do I find out about these things after I book flights. :(

I'm a massive naval history nerd and the Titanic started it all.

Not a hope that I'll miss this.

I dare say I'll go a few times.

Saw it in Atlanta. Was ok, nothing to rave about.

Yep, I'm going for sure. Apparently they got the "big piece" on display. (Small section of hull from C deck i believe). Broke off during the moment the ship split in 2 and took at least 2 attempts, that I know of, to bring it too the surface. Also got a few recreations of sections of the ship such as the forward 1st class staircase.

Anyway my plan is to watch the james cameron movie in the morning, then to the museum and followed by the to the Titanic entertainment restraunt in Williamstown. Still havn't worked out a date yet.
