I am sure that your puppy will pull through with such a loving family waiting for it's return to health.

Agreed-always persist with them.....this is the kind of thing that they are there for and whilst they cannot legally shut her down for selling a puppy with parvo when you cant obviously see it, they can keep tabs on her other puppies. Better that she is aware that they are on to her- it might help discourage this frankly appauling behaviour. These people should be severely dealt with as a lesson to others.

Best of luck with the little one, I hope the pup gets well soon.

Awesome, so glad to read that it's all worked out well.

I hope the puppy brings many years of companionship and joy.

He's a boy. Explains everything, doesn't it?

My mum used to ask the same question about me. :

Great news YM. I have had the misfurtune to come across parvo as well when I moved into a new home a few years back. Luckily the older dogs were OK but I was breeding puppies at the time & we lost an entire litter to this nasty virus.

I know it can last in the ground for years and years ..... the place we moved into had been vacant for over 2yrs and the previous tennants didnt have any dogs so it could have been upto 5yrs since an the initial outbreak had occured.

I hope the bleach works. I was able to, being out bush get some sheep dip & this seemed to work ,...... well it must have as all the other litters we had after that were all OK ......

Glad to hear that the puppy is getting better by the way.

Selling dogs in pet shops should be outlawed!

If you want a healthy and well bred puppy, go to a reputable registered breeder.

If you want anything else where you cant get a guarentee of what your getting, go to a backyard breeder or a pet shop where pups are often sold younger than 8 weeks, full of worms and have had no vaccinations and purely breed and sold for profit, not to improve the quality of the breed itself.

Why did you want a crossbred Border Collie X Lab anyway over say a purebred Border Collie or Labrabor Retriever?

Also, when you bought the pup from the petshop, did you receive any vaccination papers and was it microchiped as well?

I grew up with a border collie X kelpie and she was the best dog we ever had. I didn't want a pure bred collie, and I love labs, but they can be a bit docile sometimes, so I thought the mix would be a good blend of an active intelligent dog, and one a little more docile, but with the same smarts.

I received vaccination papers, have the next ones due in 2 weeks. I have to take it back to the vet for a checkup tomorrow and I have booked it in to be microchiped then as well.
