I know it has nothing to do with ford, but i have always wanted to use the name Reef, probly as a middle name, but I think 012's idea of joining names sounded good, Jamon sounds good...
All the best for the last haul...

Seeing its a mini Eamon, chose another good irish name. Liam, Declan, Conor are all good.

Thanks Colville!

Im not sure, there have been heaps of forums babies around over the last few years. It might be the first baby, in the sense that the parents actually met on the forums though! Not sure. Hehe.

Just got back from the obstetrician. Apparently I have gestational diabetes, and my blood pressure is too high (despite being on medication for 6 weeks for it). Among other things... hmmmm. Might explain why Ive been so tired lately. But then working 12 hour days, 5 days a week, 3 hours a day commuting and my son being particularly difficult lately might have something to do with it too. I dont know what I would have done without Eamon lately, to be honest. He has been 100% fantastic and Im sure a lot on here would be surprised, but he has been amazing!

And he is very happy about it being a boy! He has plans for playing footy, doing car stuff etc. We have some 000 FPR clothes already hehe. But he WIL NOT have the kid named after him, he hates his name!

Toby is looking like the go at this point...

Hey Jac, that's what I mean't. You're the first that I know of so that's good enough for me:1syellow1 Gestational diabetes is only temporary fortunately, but will make you feel tried due to the lack of insulin that your body normally produces. That and carrying a baby around anyway!!

Your baby’s development is not negitively affected but due to the exposure to your high glucose levels, your little boy will produce extra insulin, thus in some cases causing the baby to grow bigger. My tip is to opt for drugs during birth!!:

Seriously however you can control gestational diabetes well with the right eating and physical activity program.:voldar02: Eamon's going to enjoy that!

Now about all these 12 hour days Jac!!.....: :newangel:

Hehe thanks mate!

Well, being a nurse and having two diabetic parents (non insulin dependent mature onset), I sort of had an idea this would happen, especially now with me being older. And as for big babies, well Ive had a 4.5 kg one last time, so it couldnt get too much worse than that (I didnt have diabetes for that one, he is just a big boy).

Hmmm well the 12 hour days, Im hoping that will end soon, as the boss has gone off her nut and may not even return. But at the moment, lots of work and a very stressful work environment is hard to avoid.

I think the hardest thing is going to be giving up Coke, sugar in the coffee, ice coffee and stuff like that... Hehe.

Oh well, things could be a lot worse! I thought I was going to have a lot more trouble even conceiving him, and we did it in one month! I am really grateful for him, so I am not complaining too much really!

Sounds like not only are you well prepared but you have just the right attitude to manage your condition. That's a great start already..but 4.5kg?? Ooch!! : lol

Being a nurse it will be hard to avoid a stressful environment. Even the long hours sort of comes with the territory. I know I'm preaching to the converted but you will need to put your own wellbeing first this time. Unfortunately there will always be patients to treat and others that will need you at work, its an occupational health hazard.

I’ve just recently cut back on my sugar intake so I can relate to you there. I’m just doing it because all those end of year business lunches etc is turning my six pack into a slosh pack..lol :

Anyway, I'm really am happy for you both Jac. Older women (not that your old really) make great mothers IMO. The increased level of potential difficulty that comes with giving birth later in life makes the miracle of life when it happens all the more special.:

Take care of yourself
