If you can't get the ring or not confident about the sizing or style, at least get a nice rock (A good diamond seller can package it nicely for presentation), if she says yes, go to a jeweller and let her choose the band. I did just that and it worked out perfectly. If she says no, you have a diamond thats more tradable than a set piece.
There's some good diamond traders online and are fantastic. High currency means you'll get the more '4c' for your buck. Just make sure you tell her it's a one time offer so she gives you a yes or no on the spot. |

I did it in the kitchen at home, no ring, no down on knee thing. Gotta yes. 30 years now.
