My exgf knew a girl at school called Candida. They just called her Candy.

I don't mind the name Altena though. But I apperantly have a bit of Corsican blood in me.

Over the years I have collected silly names. To qualify the person must have aquired the name by birth or marriage, deed poll etc does not count.
Here are a few:

Ricky Sole was a mate of mine in Grade 2, it was fun when the roll was called, R. Sole
Wayne Kerr was an apprentice electrician at Ergon in Maryborough
Sandy Banks was in my 1st year at Uni
Rayna Snow worked in the Post Office in Maryborough
Teresa Green was a nurse at the Base Hospital
Pieter Niss was a trainee manager at Pizza Hut in Newmarket (P. Niss)
Dwayne Pieper is a cousin of my late wife
Christine Skillington married Reg Cross, she is now Chris Cross.
Michael Hunt was my section supervisor at Willis Communications in Kelvin Grove (he HATED being called Mike)

Some parents are just CRUEL.....

<<<<<<< My daughter's name is alright (Zoe) but add her middle and last names (Margaret Bronstien-Dyall) together we'll have fun trying to teach her to say it.
I went out with a girl in high school who's last name was Bunworth

When I was growing up there was this old guy in our suburb - not sure of his nationality - but his last name was Pisalotti. That was unfortunate!

Another isn't a person's name but a street name in my suburb - Woollybutt Drive.

I still think that Gwenyth Paltrow's daughter, Apple, is a classic. And Macey Grey who named her child "Happy". Hollywood parents seem to give their kids strange names.

My kids are Caitlin (11), Cameron (8) and Toby (due in April). Nothing exciting there.

A friend of mine has a child called Miah (pronounced Myer) and we were actually in Myers once, kid got lost and friend was calling her name... was rather funny. Miah is now 13 and is not impressed. Her sister is Tawnee and gets a few comments too. Littlest sister is Cheyenne (pronounced Shy-Anne).Their dog is Aziah (pronounced Asia). If they had a boy, it would have been called "Gage"....

I dont think Ford is the worst name a kid could have either. So many kids get teased about their names! My brother, Scott was always called Snot. Not original but it does happen to so many people.

My partner is called Eamon (pronounced Amon) but kids at school always pronounced it Eemon. So he got "semen" a lot.

We live near a place called Cameron Caravans (well 35 km away) so my son gets called that all the time. As you can see, it doesnt take much! My friend is Michael John Smith and he got teased for that!!!

Stick with Ford if thats what you really want! Just think it through carefully!

Jac
