I would have picked the 86 as well.
These days, new xr6t lux pack can be had for under $40k.

Wife's got a Subaru BRZ, you really need to drive one of these (BRZ/86) to appreciate the appeal of them. As a package they are a lot of fun. Certainly no dragstrip weapon though.

I'd personally love to see an STI type version of the BRZ I think that would be a great little 2 door.

It's a really odd selection of cars reading it again. There's a 10k difference between cheapest and most expensive, which is a lot when this is around 40k, for a start.
Why put a large rear drive V8 amongst a field of light 4cyl cars? Why use a GTI, it no longer claims to be a "hot hatch"? And why does the video review have the Megane RS 265 (would be my choice) and the Focus ST in it yet the written article makes no mention? Odd.
