can anyone tell me if an EA s pack dash will go into a EBII without disrupting the smartlock, can a hole be made for the little light to fit

your better of getting a EBII to ED S pack or Fairmont cluster with the smartlock light already fitted.

The EA dash will swap over fine (got my old EA dash in my ED now), but as you said there just wont be a smartlock light- this doesn't affect operation, but could be a bastard in a diagnostic situation! I imagine it would be fairly easy to swap the smartlock jewel over, haven't tried it myself though.
