Default Shipping car parts

Hi all,

I've found a rare bonnet for my wife's Territory, but it's gotta come from Victoria to Qld, has anyone used a decent courier to ship these kinds of items before?

I'll have to convince the owner to pack it for me I'm guessing even though he's advertised as'pick up only'.

Any help is hugely appreciated!

Brooksy

It’s in Ballarat, perchance? : lol

Some forums I have been on, had an informal network of people that drove lots.

Ask Webtow (Matt) if he’ll take a loose part. It might fit in with some other plans he’s made.

So the seller won’t post, or Matt won’t take it?

Worth the drive to DIY?

Giving you are asking about "cart parts", I assume the bonnet in question looks a like thiss;

Yes I know it was an innocent typo, but some things are just too hard to resist.

Its the Turbo Territory Bonnet. With the hood scoop... they are rare in that finding one without a lot of rust and for sale is very hard to find.

I've been looking for the past month or more, and most are rusted worse than mine (which is pretty bad) and getting a 'non rust optioned' one will be much cheaper than the cost of repair to mine.

I only picked up this car a few weeks ago and underestimated the cost of repair to the bonnet. Hence the search!

Try Ford Pro Spares in Smithfield NSW they often have these in stock..

Quick look and I see four TT's being wrecked.

by the time you find a territory turbo bonnet with good insert you are gonna be paying $1000-1500 for it, add on atleast a few hundred shipping, you are almost at the cost of a front mount intercooler that actually works, and slap a $200 standard bonnet on it

Why get a standard bonnet on it? I didn't buy a standard Territory for a reason, why then make it look like it's not what it is? It's got a scoop for a reason, just like the boss bonnet Falcons. Why don't GT owners just get a standard bonnet instead of a boss? Same reason.

I also am not turning this thing into a weapon, just a faster daily than a standard NA petrol or turbo diesel. So no need for a big money intercooler either. Plus all the cost of re-routing all the pipe work to fit a front mount; cause buying a quality intercooler and fitting it in the standard position is just plain stupid, especially with no airflow though a bog stock bonnet.

Yeah spoke to Mad, he was awesome. But the seller basically decided he didn't want to talk to me other than say (once) "local pick up only". Then he marked it as sold. He didn't respond to any other polite questions. So I gave up.

You know whats harder to find than the bonnet Brooksy?

The plastic scoop in the bonnet, ford also glued it down so removing a 15 year old brittle plastic scoop is just a nightmare, and there is no aftermarket option.

Bigger stuff via "Freightmatch" including our boat, overnight !!

I did see a TT at Beenleigh Auto Dismantlers, on Logan River Road, not too long back. Have you tried them? At least they are in Queensland. They seemed to specialise in FPV and other "rare' models.

Unfortunately by the time you were offering to help out, the seller had gone cold on anything I said. And the ad went offline soon after.

I'll look into it, thanks for that. I've sent part enquiries to so many different wreckers now, I can barely remember them all...

I've used pack and send about 10 years ago... Totally forgot about them.

I saw one advertised a few weeks ago actually. There's one for sale up here at the moment that comes with a rusted out bonnet, but they aren't connected.
