Thats an LS1 motor, trust me i know, iv had about 6 in my hands, Man, my mates carbied LS1 in his VN made 255rwkw, a bit more injected, and thats with bottom end work, cam, elderbrock mainfold ect... that commdore would be a straight line machine if it was 600odd kw

i have seen a n/a ls1 stroked to 427, with al after market gear like block, heads, crank basicly everything. with the same intake setup as this vs. it made around 520 rwhp. on the engine dyno they said it made 700hp. it was in a gto monaro
as said before " ill belive it when i see the graph"

its not impossible to make those figures on a NA 8cyl but it is extremely expensive and hard work. if he has put in $50,000 he could punch those figures but i am also going to say that until i see a graph i wont believe it.

yeah I was going to say, it's definately a GenIII...even if its stock apart from the intake and a cam it would go unreasonably hard in a nice light VS, if its a totally built stroker with massive heads and all the good stuff inside it would be a death machine! still wouldnt crack 625kw at the wheels though IMHO...probably not at the motor either.
Counting a 427 as 7 litres even, and 625kw at the engine as 812hp, then its making 116hp per litre, which is highly unlikely. Even less so would be that figure at the wheels, which given a loss of say, 100hp through the drivetrain, would be 130hp/L That would be a very interesting car to drive, I really want to know the real power output though... |
