it was fairly tricky, very much trial and error and very time consuming.
I've never done anything like this before, much like anything with my car i figure if i stuff up, parts are easy to replace so what have i got to lose.

Looking good John, nice addition! I wouldn't mind trying a vinyl with a texture similar to the BAs, maybe when I get my company car I can start ripping the ol' crate apart

Next mod for you John is perhaps clean wheels? Don't think you can clean yours anymore!

Now how did you get the suede around the edge of the dash like that.
Doco or at least could you email me all the photos you took of the other car and yours during the process Please
PM Sent for details.

You have given me an idea.
When i get back home i might just pull it apart and work on it some more.
I miss it dearly but then my parents are making sure its safe instead of leaving it in the lockup.

i did this to a hq ute i used to have. i had black suede, but it went off over time, and faded really badly... :(

i hope yours doesnt fade. i think long periods of direct sun exposure kills the colour. when possible (obviously when parked) put up a ghey sun visor and it should last longer

time will tell... worst case is somewhere down the line i either change the dash or recover it with something else.
