I occasionally deliver to Ford head office in Campbellfield and get to see the new exec driven cars. What caught my attention this morning and made me stop and stare was a BF XR in ORANGE.
The best way to describe this colour is to liken it to the Yellow Fire of the XA GT. I really liked the colour, (but i have a thing for orange cars). I hope this has not been posted previously, i did do a search prior to posting. Apologies for the lack of pics. (must remember to take phone charger!) |

Did it look like this?
It's called "Octane" and is available via the FPV models. |

Wait till you see it in the flesh. Is it just me, or do you people think there is a shift to the more "daring" colours of the 70's. I personally think it is a step in the right direction. |

It certainly is like the Taxi colour- yellow- isn't it? :
First time I saw it I didn't really think so but now seeing it again, yep I do believe it is a taxi colour... But looks awesome anyway...

Interesting.... I'll wait till I see it up close.
I see Neo has been added to the FPV charts as well. Merc Sivler & Menace are on the way out next month too.

I think the oranges and the light greens on recent fords are absolutely HORN. : : :
U have to admit there is nothing like seeing the colours of the fords in flesh on the roads,it puts so much zing into our roads with random blueberries and lightning strikes just cruising our roads :evil3: That new orange is sweet to |

June Car and Driver has an article "Fords That Could Save Ford Now" They said " Would you visit a Ford dealer if it sold a budget BMW that hosted five adults and their airport luggage, laid rubber with the rear tyres and rode gently on all four, turned sharply into corners and drifted its tail coming out , gave you the choice of six-speed manual or German designed six-speed automatic, and it came in all the colours of the rainbow and a few only found in a toxic dump ?" They wrote. "To borrow an Aussie prase, we bet the Falcon would stick out in America like dogs balls. and thats a good thing. "

Bright colours are good. More choice is good. What is the range of Holden colours?
I have always been a dark colour fan, but recently I have liked Citric Acid, Toxic and Bionic. I am quite over metallic/pearls. In the future I would like to see a non metallic grass green (not like Toxic, think lighter than Envi and no metallic), a non metallic emerald green and a non metallic deep purple. Not the colour of the Cadbury cars, but darker and deeper.

Bwahahahahah
Queensland Taxi just like Rapid is Vic Taxi :P certainly does look good though, the bright daring colours very much suit the BA's.. back in the EF/EL days it was all dark metallics, nothing bright suited them.

the problem with this color is its to "pastel" needs more metallic to it i feel, as does the rapid, even though i love anything yellow. SVO had a yellow ute a while back and it was an awesome pearly-metallicy yellow

The pictures look better than the orange in the Flesh, looks like the 70's taxi colour up close. Also there looks to be an aqua green coming out that's horrid. But each to their own.

I'm a big orange fan (duh) so I can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Seeing people have mentioned it I'll add I hate metallic paints, sparkles suck I want nice colours not glitter (& before anyone says it yes I know my TE50 is metallic) |

Nah that’s not the paint that’s the **** poor application technique currently employed by Ford. True story. Had the BF GT-P into the body works to rectify some issue from the factory. When it came time to discuss the painting and after they used the analyser on the paint the owner of the premises calls out to get the first year apprentice to come over to the car. He proceeds to ask him if he can forget everything he has been told in the last 5 months about painting. The reply was yes. Owner turns to me and says, "yes, no problem we should be able to match that for you!" Our issue will be in trying to get our quality that bad. “We couldn’t get away with a job like that unless you want the entire car done” It would seem Ford are spending far more time on a revolving pallet policy when they should really be trying to lift the standard of the colours they already have in production.

Hey, I 'made' that colour last year! Behold, Burnt Tangerine!
OK, it's more halfway between Rapid and Octane, but I reckon it's tops. |

The brighter and bolder the better. Rapid became my favourite even though I said I would never own or like yellow on a car, Shockwave, Bionic, Venom, Vixen, Blood Orange, Blueprint, Octane... all great colours I like. Ford always seem to get the shade just right. Also, I see Menace is to be discontinued next month.

Seen an XR8 getting around in Octane and it looks crap. Its just dull and lifeless, definately lacks something. It won't last long.

I've been told by someone that has seen it that it's the same colour as used on the Mustang GTR concept from a couple of years back.
