The only shaker I know of fitted to an E-series is on Vegabass' EL XR6. Obviously it's not a V8 though.

finnyman, the EF/EL I6 would be easier to set up in this manner due to the t/b being above the middle of the head, slightly to the passenger side, and facing upwards towards the centre of the bonnet. Perfectly positioned to accept incoming air from above ;)
The 5.0 would require some serious intake manifold modification to get a working shaker setup. Vegabass's thread(s) on the shaker setup also have pix of 5.0s with non-functional shakers, which are mounted onto the BBQ plate I think. Noosacuda, do you mean an XY shaker, or a BA bulge? Rymers (or Sphell, dammit I always get you two mixed up for some stupid reason) has a BA bulge on his EA. In this case it doesn't matter what's under the bonnet as I can't really picture a "non-functional" bulge |

Theres a red EL XR8 in one of the SA FPV/Tickford/XR6/XR8 etc clubs with a black Shaker scoop. IMO it looks pretty out of place on an XR with a smooth bonnet.
The intake pipe came out of the side of the shaker, then did a 180deg loop to the MAF and TB, so it still sucked in air, how much air I don't know.

Well here are the pics, and some tips on doing it yourself:
1) Don't 2) If you must do it, Measure everything and have some one to help you. 3) Measure again. 4)Don't be discouraged when your wife/girlfriend says "You paid $500 for something so you have to put a hole in your bonnet?!?!" 5) DON'T cut the hole with a Supercheap jig saw.(after you've measured the hole sooo many times you have night-mares over it. 5) Take a Valium, deep breath and cut. |

I've got a spare bonnet for the ol' crate, and I'm thinking of cutting a hole out and putting a low scoop over where the airbox sits as a cold air intake. The scoop would be no bigger than the shaker scoop, painted silver like the car and all blended in. What do you guys think of that?

Don't know of performance increase as yet,(i only drive it a couple of times a month anyway) i'm going to the Rocky swap on saturday for a drive so i'll find out then. Induction noise is more noticable, and as Vegabass said it's fun to watch the Shaker and gearstick rock with each-other whilst idling.

good to see a nice example of a ford with some cool shaker antics! Rob and I have some fancy ideas for the V8s plumbing.
