Thats right all travel to countries execpt USA I would padlock.
I have been to the US 3 times since 911.

No real problems but last year had my pics and finger prints taken and while boarding in Las Vegas I didn't mean to put my hand in to start removing objects out of my carry on luggage while it was being checked ( nothing in it to endanger anyone) the airport security got angry with me and pulled me to one side and chastise me like a child not to do that again. So really you need to be aware of the countries laws that you travel to and not be careless in anyway.

Did anyone see the "Free Schapelle" Signwriting on the Wow Sight and Sound Commodore at the Creek today?

Yes I saw it, I jumped on my PC straight away to see if I could get a capture of it, but they only showed it once. :(

TEAM SUPPORT FOR SCHAPELLE CORBY
Team owner Tony Longhurst feels very strongly about the treatment of Schapelle Corby languishing in a Bali prison cell, and has taken the positive step of displaying a banner of support for Schapelle and her family across the windscreen of the team’s car #45 for tomorrow’s two race events.

“I feel it is the least I can do, I think the majority of Australians feel for her and her family and anything we can do to rally support must help to get her back home”.

“I had intended taking my family to Bali again within weeks for our annual holiday on the island, I have just today cancelled our booking and never plan to return” - commented Longhurst.

I heard this morning on the news that some of the things the judges said in the trial were against the Indonesian Constitution and are being looked into.

Surprise surprise.

did you also hear that corby's defense are clutching at straws if they decide to use this as the basis for their appeal? Or the comments about her evidence being too week to really give the indonesian court a different choice?? The cirumstantial evidence against her was just too strong..

Did you also know that in Australia, she would have faced 10 years and that the evidence they presented would have been useless to her as well because of the hear-say nature of their evidence?

All these comments were made by an Australian Prof. Of Indonesian Law.

I'm hoping you didn't see all this and not just selectively leave it out....

otherwise, you're only seeing and hearing the things that confirm the stance you have chosen.

ask Pauline Hanson or Lindy Chamberlain how good our judical system is... The media circus around this pi$$es me off...

And Jem i agree she would of been tried for 10 in Aus BUT if found guilty she would serve three years and be released on parole.

Ok now that I am thinking of a calm blue ocean - I SO WANT TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW! lol

Meh, it really doesn't matter in the scheme of things... it's all opinion, and sometimes I have to breathe deep and remember that we are entitled to have different viewpoints.

Life would be boring if we all thought the same hey.

Put things in perspective. The other night I took myself off to hospital cos I was having breathing problems and the dr thought I might have a blood clot in my lungs (I am fine btw). So while I was there, the quiet emergency department exploded into a frenzy of activity.

A guy was brought in, screaming. I was shaking as I heard him crying and screaming, thinking "This guy sounds like he may die". A whole lot of other ppl were brought in, kids, teenagers etc. It was chaos.

The place was madness. Apparently there had been a house fire, and at the time the family who lived at this house were having a small party so friends and family were there. The father, Paul, had raced upstairs to save a 13 year old girl and he couldn't reach her, and was badly burnt in the process. She died in the blaze.

It puts a little difference of opinion in perspective.

exactly.

Too many people have been letting themselves become so emmotionally attached to what could be said to be negligible in the scheme of other events going on under our noses.

i'll put a spin on the whole thing. an indonesion tourist got caught in australia at sydney airport attempting to import 1kg of speed. he was tried and sentenced in court. his punishment 5 years jail with day release if he can find work so he got free accomodation rent free andall meals supplied and a job 5 days per week earning $400 no need to take out medical insurance either because all medical tretment costs are covoured in jail. he had to endure this for 5 years and then he will be deported( probably free flight ).whilst this is not my idea of a perfect life i bet the little f----kr will go home and buy 2kgs in the hope of a 10yr sentance next time.

I think other people need to respect other peoples opinions whether or not you agree with them. I just started this thread to hear what other people opinions on whether they thought she was guilty/not guilty etc. Not to see the thread blow out into a war and for it to be locked.

Another thing to keep in mind is that we ALL have problems, whether they be major or minor, so when you see what you think is an attack on you also sit back and think about what be transpiring in the other persons life at the current time.

We ALL get defensive when we're stressed. Some people do it just to make sure that everyone thinks their opinion is the one and only opinion in the world. Others have very uneducated opinions and these last two groups are the ones that ruin it for everyone else.

Bindi, I'm glad to hear that you're are in fact well, I read about the fire in the paper and heard about it on the news. It is a tragic story. :(

If you need to talk to anyone about what happened feel free to PM me, it's a stessful thing to see then hear the results of.

Schapelle's defence did what they could with what they had. There is no way she would have got 10 years in Australia. No way. The evidence from Brisbane airport would have been enough to conclude reasonable doubt... and, at the very least, the CCTV footage of the conversation between Schapelle and the Customs agent would have been brought before the court to see who was actually telling the truth. Important becuase it turned out to be a major factor in the judges final decision.

I take everything I read and hear with a grain of salt, and whilst admittedly I never saw his comments anywhere, this Professor sounds like he was trying to cover for the woeful indonesian justice system by giving an irrelevant and unproven example of the australian justice system.

LET them run their country and stay away from them . it is what they want..

btw, i have stated a few times that i am not passing judgement on her, something i think is impossible to do from the info available.

Good point, and I agree, as I said much earlier in this thread, the only person who knows for sure if she's guilty or not is her, for the rest of us general public, we can't be sure, one way or the other.

Oh, and I thought this was interesting today, it'll be interesting to see if that price goes down in the next few weeks:

I agree.

My mate tried an experiment on Friday night, he got his boogie board & bag, filled it four kilos of frozen peas & stuff and everybody had a go at picking it up.
All agreed that 4 kilograms extra weight in a boogie board bag was to heavy not to noticed.

No one can say that she is innocent or guilty, but alarm bells did start to ring when I found out that she had picked up the bag & tried to walk out without noticing the extra weight.
Some have said she did not notice because she had other bags, well I've been over seas & I was always aware of being careful with your own baggage, if I pick up a boogie board & feel the thing has multiplied in weight by 8X I'm going to drop that thing quick smart & have a look.
She has also been over seas before, so she would have been told by someone, travel agent, customs, flight attendant, etc, beware of your bags.

I just wonder, if she was a bloke or a fat ugly girl would she get the same media attention? And would as many people following the story, be bothered to read it?

I've got to say, (and I'm aware not everyone will agree with me on this one) I don't think she's particularly attractive, personally if I saw her on the street or somewhere else, I wouldn't look twice.

To me, the interest in her case has nothing to do with her looks, more to do with how, at least at this point in time, it hasn't been established beyond reasonable doubt that she did smuggle marijuana into Bali on purpose.

Having said that, I can't say for sure that she's innocent, however, and this is the important bit, I can't say with certainty that she's guilty either. And that is the real problem here.

PS. I know the issue is that, under Indonesian law, the issue is that it was in her posession and is therefore her problem, however that doesn't make it fair or just to me, and I honestly fail to see how anybody could claim that it could be, seeing as it would be so easy for someone to make an innocent person be the scapegoat for their activities if they suspected they might get caught...

i had this as well. my opinion was very different to the majority on this forum in another thread. hence i don't post here very often.

back to shappelle, she is either a very good actor or innocent.her body language suggests this.

on another note how come so many asian people hate us but do illegal things to live here? :

A couple of theories that are doing the rounds and have raised a lot of discussion with people I know:

- Crazy Ron is backing her because he is "The Man" so to speak and he was worried that if she went down she'd start singing like a bird and bring him and his whole network down.

- If your bag weighed 4.2 kg's extra you would really be feeling it. I take a back pack to the drags and if I put half a dozen magazines in it I really feel the extra weight and that would not be more than 1 kg.

- Apparently her and her b/f are well known around Mermaid Beach ( gold coast ) for dealing in high grade grass. The theory in that is the amount of Aussie's in Bali that are not used to the low grade weed and she was dealing the good shit to them.

- She thought that being an Aussie, she would get a lot more sympathy at the air port after our loss in the bombings and our help after the tsunami's.

- The Feds set her up in a sting, because of the amount of dope she is dealing in Australia they wanted to bring her down, but our crime & punishment system is inadequate.

- She is a plant sent inside to take care of Amrosi and co. One of her relatives died in the bombings and this is the only way she can get to the bombers and deal out appropriate justice.

I just want to say that the argument about "why would you want to take drugs to bali when they are cheaper to buy there than here" is bullshit. There are thousands of drug traffickers in Indonesian jails that were busted taking drugs into the country already.

This may be slightly off topic, but on Media Watch last night they did an interesting comparison between the news organisations that paid the Corby family for access (PBL, 2GB radio) vs those that didn't (News, 2UE radio).

Not really suprising that the organisations with paid access to the family were much more likely to report that she was innocent.

I guess the moral of the story is be careful what you choose to believe.

Yup, I agree, extreme, and in my opinion, rather stupid.

Some people seem to be unable (or unwilling) to think things through to their logical conclusion.

Idiots.

Yeah I thought that Australia was a fairly reasonable country where you could speak your mind rather than this. It can be likened to extrememist states. If this sort of stunt doesnt work over there what makes it likely to work here. It is a terrorist act and thats all that can be said. It was only a matter of time.

While it's not quite up there with torching a KFC while employees are inside, depending on the agent, it's not far off the same mentality and behaviour.
