Hi to all the members.
I’m Ken, I’m 75 and it’s unlikely I’m the oldest member to join, though I would guess I’m far from the youngest. I joined up a few days ago and have been merrily reading though the Classic Section and must say this is a great site. I stumbled on it during a Google search for info on the XY Falcon. My 15 year old Grandson and I are trying to rebuild or maybe I should say just hoping to get an old XY my brother left me back on the road. My Grandson fell in love with it and I’ve promised it too him if he helps me get it into shape. It has been sitting in a shed for a few years and we have started and driven it and our only real problem so far is that neither of us have any mechanical background or knowledge. So fingers are crossed and you will most likely see me in the Classic Section asking some very basic questions. Cheers, Ken. |

Thanks Russell, I am new here as you can see and am still flying blindly in the forums , I have my project ready to go putting my 351 into my navara ute which is a rear sump jobby, my question is about the Windsor sump and the difference if any to the cleveland sump how do i ask that on a new thread??
I have searched the forums and spoke to another Cleveland enthusiast in Auckland and he said to post this question on the site which he is a member of ,any help would be grateful thanks |

Hi All, I have been meaning to post to the Forum for a long time, just did not get around to it until now! I am on the Central Coast of NSW, I am of the baby boomers vintage, no qualifications in the mechanical engineering field just a back yarder who will have a go at just about anything mechanical.
I have a 1993 XR8 Sprint since 1998 which I picked up at an auction, it was a repossessed vehicle, when I got it all the Original sprint wheel were removed and some old rims with re-treads were on it, (I am assuming the person from which it was repossessed, took them off), It is a Red Automatic, I have some ordinary 17" wheels on it at the moment until something else comes along, it has the standard headers with a 3" from cat back through one 14" offset muffler, The throttle body pitted badly a couple of years ago and I replaced it with another standard 70mm I think, it has only done 110,000klms as I did not drive it a lot, hence the deteriation of the throttle body, and now some rust in both sills and also under the bonnet where the bonnet strut mounts The transmission was playing up with symptoms of "when in drive it would change through the gears but not quiet right revving too high in final gear etc, but if manually placed in 3rd, 2nd or even 1st, it would not respond it would just stay in drive mode, yet other days when it warmed up it would operate normally, very frustrating these intermittent faults!!, anyway some years ago I purchased a transmission and the brain box out of a Sprint, from a bloke in Sydney who had a Sprint, but was into drag racing, he pulled the Auto box out of his, with only a few K's on it. I had a peak at what he had done under the bonnet of his SPRINT But he had far too much drag/race paraphernalia for my comprehension. I am currently swapping the transmissions (original is out the other ready to go in) the symptoms of the original box may have been overcome by visiting an Auto transmission centre (but at what cost?), it is just that I had the other box that I am going down the swapping process. I replaced the heater core and the Air Con evaporator (that was fun!!), and all heater hoses. Not unlike other owners would like to do things to the car but do we try to keep them original or do we change headers, (When you can get the correct ones to fit the GT40 heads) put in improved performance electronic device's. Enough of my introduction info, hope I did not bore too much!! I will register the SPRINT with the register also!! |

Hi,
Love the site, so much info and great discussions. I recently purchased a FG MK2 F6. 1800km not a scratch on it for 47k and it's just my Sunday and I intend on keeping her for a long time. I also secured the number plate LAST-F6 I believe ford won't make another F6 in the MK3 version. Can someone confirm this is the case??... This will make my number plate make perfect sense I'm still in shock the plate was available..!!!! Anyway many thanks to the dedicated people that run this site and answer so many questions for us Newbies Cheers LASTF6 Last edited by F6-631; 16-05-2014 at 10:49 AM. |

Hi All,
Joined this forum to get some answers as both Dad and I have BA wagons and hoping people out there have seen some of the things we are experiencing. In the past I have had an XD S sedan, a very early one with the 3.3 and iron head; and an XD fairmont wagon with 4 speed manual trans. I am also the proud owner of a Wolseley 24/80. Sadly I cant find piccies of my fords but for those interested, I will put a picture of my Wolseley on here Cheers, Paul Last edited by pbmartin; 16-05-2014 at 09:47 PM. Reason: Add comment |

Hi All,
I'm 67 years young and have just acquired a 2004 Territory Gia and my daughter has just acquired a 2007 SR Territory. I live on the Gold Coast but am in the process of a tree change to the country. Retirement is great, don't know how I found time to work. Will post photo of Territory's soon. Thanks Last edited by GasoLane; 17-05-2014 at 08:22 AM. |

g'day,
part way thru a 78 fy rebiuld, its a towing (horses) and camping vehicle. so far just concentrated on reliability and fuel - gas- economy had it up to 5km/litre, usually around 4 even towing 2 tonne. 302 heads/and msd disy were the main improvers. Discs on back and power steer were luxuries. |

Hey guys this site has some great advice and tech info...
I have a 1987 ZL Fairlane which is in great condition and I cant wait to modify. The intentions are to have a turbo engine conversion with some simple but yet tasteful mods done to it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance. |

Hi all, Have updated the other halves daily drive to a 2008 Territory from a series 1 Au that did 380,000 km over 10 years without a problem. Getting a bit older and out of date on modern stuff and thought if I need info the Ford forum is probably the place to be. Need to find out mostly about upgrades to tow the van and get it to do 380,000km, if it goes that long I will be well past the average age for a plot and ready to trade it on a Gopher.

Hi guys just bought my first turbo car. A G6E Turbo. I love it but I liked to do some mods to it. That's why I've joined the forum as there seams to be some switched on guys that know a thing or two that can point me in the right direction and I can learn. Also I'm in to muscle cars. I own xw falcon GT.
Cheers |
