I took the nf/df cluster, console rear light, chrome shifter shaft, nf black height adjustable front seat belts and ef black rear seat belts from my old el wagon and fitted them to my new el wagon. Also fitted a custom rear bar and did a cooling system flush and de-badged the same car.
Then prepped, primed, sanded and painted more parts for my wifes wagon

Bare metalled the LHR quarter panel.
The lazy ***** who repaired and painted it before I got it couldn't be bothered panel beating - just filled low points with bog; over half an inch thick in places! I tapped it out, heat shrunk one area and now it will only need a skim in a couple of places. |

Only a small job but replaced the adaptive shift badge on the shifter plate, really bugged me that it was missing along with the ticky badges on the front guards.

Found a noise that'd been driving me spare, and fixed it!
I used to have a few main noises from the back of the car while driving on bumpy roads. Since I have almost nothing in the boot (no carpet, boot lining, nothing until I finish some rust work) any noises from that end are amplified - which gives me the chance to tackle one at a time. I've gone through a loose badge on the bootlid, a small squeak around the boot lock, a wire bundle on the left side indicator/brake light housing clattering against the side of the quarter panel... and this infernal *clunk* that wouldn't show up on all bumps, but enough to leave me with one eyelid twitching. Turned out to be one of the boot springs - on the passenger side where the torsion spring exits its holder was a rust mark up higher than the spring turns when the boot was opened and closed. I think with regular vibration, the spring would creep up the notch holding it, then suddenly click back down where it sat before when I'd go over a larger bump. One single drop of oil (on a part of the chassis that looked so clean I doubt it'd ever had a spray of WD40 let alone lubrication) appears to have fixed it - there's no longer enough grip for the spring to creep up. A quick zip around town had no clunks whatsoever. I can stop twitching now |

I replaced the front OEM Rotors, pads and brake lines with DBA 4000 rotors, Brembo pads and Goodridge braided lines thanks to Race brakes Sydney.

Got very upset with it after noticing a 'flapping' noise ten minutes from home, having it stall at the top of the driveway and when I finally get it started it decides not to hold idle and dies straight away. Once I finally get it started and idling kinda normal, I start to hear a shocking knocking noise coming from the engine, praying to God that it's only the belt tensioner which I will replace tomorrow; if not then I'm going to burn it because I can't handle all the problems it's throwing me

1. De-badged the boot and side skirts on the BF because I needed to do something because bored.
2. Looked around again for new race car project to fill the space that was left when I sold my Line. Results for 1. Success Results for 2. Failure Being forced to build to a budget is proving to be a royal pain in the proverbial, LOL, the Minister of War and Finances was a bit upset that my last toy cost around 80k for 4 years of racing and has now limited my budget to 2/5 of not much........ Stupid budget............................................... Last edited by MLR; 04-09-2013 at 08:01 PM. |

Kept at the general maintenance on less exciting parts. Rear passenger door this time - lithium grease in window raiser, cleaned out sticky grease on the door lock mechanism and re-oiled/greased the springs and links. Also, two bolts holding in the winder were a touch loose. Quieter now, much quieter, not to mention easier to open.
Just like a bought one! Also, some git pelted the car with ice-cream cones and eggs last night. Washed that off. |

Gave the underside of the motor and gearbox a good degrease and pressure clean to help finding leaks down the track. Happy with that effort today |

Today I noticed one of the globes in the number plate lights on my AU ute had blown so I went to replace it only to have the clip on the light assembly fall apart. I cleaned it and found it had been broken in the past and the previous owner attempted to fix it with silicone. I'm gonna have to find a replacement light assembly tomorrow.

Pulled the engine out of my old rodeo 4WD ute and stripped it down. Tomorrow I am going to buy it a set of new pistons and get it rebored.

Tightened up the rear sway bar that had come loose on one end, and cleaned the throttle body (which was long overdue really).
Happy the occasional stuttering and the annoying clunk in the left rear are gone!!

Well not just today but Thursday I picked it up from the mechanics after having a new engine and turbo fitted.
Today, I finally got around to fully replacing the roofling, interior lights and tyres now I just need to give her a wash and polish and I'll be happy; well once I figure out how to polish it properly due to the deep scratches from the last owner.
