Toasted wholemeal Turkish bread, with Ashgrove’s Herb & Garlic Butter spread on top.

Really hard to get this butter on the mainland - had friends bring it across.

This time next week I will be on leave.

I have one thing I want to drag across the line before then as it bugs me. I put my change in with everything completely good for deployment on Monday but it's not approved yet so seems unlikely now. Hopefully can get it done by Wednesday at worst, if not can wait to next year.

I really won't give a **** once I finish work on Thursday. Mic drop!

My van is going in for a new clutch, I have to wait a week before they can do it.
Need a bus to tow a trailer this week so I can work.
I own a 99 Camry wagon that’s been parked up for 2.5 years. New battery, pump up the tyres, spray the spiders away, pops over on the first go, runs like new. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Listening to John Williams play Asturias. Beautifully rendered, and using an Australian made guitar, too.

Holy crap, put the Camry on marketplace for $900. Like throwing chips to the seagulls, within 30sec my phone was blowing up, in 25min sold and gone.

That's probably because every other ad for similar vehicles on there would have been $2.5k+, with caveats such as....
"If you contact me with 'Is it still available?', I will come to your house and punch your dog in the face!", "No lowballers, I know what I got", "ultra rare collector's car", "one of a kind...." You know the ones.

Cheers, Tony

For those of you who have been following my ramblings in here over the years, you may recall that I'm part of group of volunteers that keeps our local tower clock wound and running.

After nearly forty years of continual involvement with this clock, including conceptualising the project, bringing it to fruition and also overseeing the maintenance of the clock mechanism since the replica tower was built, Bruce has decided that the effort involved in climbing the four storey ladder and winding the substantial weights is a little too much of a chore for him these days

And since we needed a new head volunteer, and no one else was prepared to step up, I've decided I'm going to try and fill his shoes. In recognition of his contribution to the community, we've both conducted interviews on our local abc radio, as well as had our photos taken at, and in, the clock tower for the radio station and local newspaper with the article expected to appear in the local rag in the next week or so.

The abc have released their article to their website and Facebook page. If you're interested in a short read, their article is available at https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-12-...icon/103228352

It's nice reading some of the comments on the Facebook page from those letting us know they appreciate that we keep the clock running!

While at one of my gardening jobs this morning, I found a $20.00 note hiding under a shrub in the carpark.

Dropping $45 on a National Parks day pass to go up Ben Lomond in the ute. Had to forego the summit walking tracks as weather started closing in rapidly (near sleeting) but still, a great experience - absolutely worth it.

Heard on the radio the other day that if you call #46 46 46 (ho ho ho) from a phone booth, you'll get to talk to an AI santa.

My wet weather walk has me pass a phone booth (used to be out the front of a milk bar that I frequented as a kid when visiting my grandparents) so I stopped to give it a go.

Initially I got one of Santa's helpers who then passed me on to the big guy. He asked if I'd been good or naughty. I responded that I'd definitely been naughty. He responded that there was still time for me to make amends! . Then he asked what I'd like for Xmas. I asked for a new partner. He then asked for some more detail, so I asked for a tall, shapely blonde . He told me that he'd work hard to see what he could come up with. Won't be holding my breath

Having known Santa quite well as kid, you'll probably get a tall blonde masseuse named Sven.
