I'm not sure whether I'm keeping mine, or not.

On the plus side, there's nothing wrong with it and with the few bits and pieces I've done to it it's a lot more "personalised" than any other car I've had in the last twenty years.

On the negative side, it's six years old (it's a long, long time since I've owned a car over three years old), and dealers are doing great deals on new(er) cars atm.

I guess a positive also, is that it's worth nothing (relatively) so I'm not losing anything if I do replace it.

The only real sticking point is that I actually *like* the car.

Oh well, I'm not in any hurry either way so maybe I'll just wait and see what desperate dealers come up with in a few months.

I happen to like the ones which i found and find them much more visually appealing than the S1 lights, i actually saw them on a liquid silver xr6 around my area and was like 'yup!' -- they are the only ones i actually like! They dont look like cheap crap!

Anywaiz, dunno why i am trying to justify

Could not give a crap what keyboard warriors like urself think thx!

I'd like to add to my list that I'd like to see 170rwkw next year MINIMUM if I go NA. If I decide to go forced induction, 250rwkw will be the target. Just comes down to what I feel like doing as well as application. Dont wanna go too overboard now do I? :P

Well who knows what I'll be able to get done, but the list is currently:

-Partial Debadge
-Modify Grille (started)
-New Wheels and Tyres
-New Shocks, Maybe Springs (I'd be looking at Lows)
-Ser II/III Tail lights
-Clear side indicators
-Ser I Classic bobtail
-Maybe Ser II/III seats and door trims
-Maybe Complete new exhaust

I'll probably look back at this at around the same time next year and realise that I'll have only done maybe 2 of those things.. but oh well.

i wouldnt say emergency as such. but i need a more family friendly car, and cant afford another loan if i keep the TE having not paid it off yet.

i hear ya.

reality is, i need to start seriously saving for a house, and having debt isnt helping, esp now with the baby.
At the end of the day, im not ACTIVELY trying to sell it. just letting people know that if they want it they can have it, for the right price. The unfortunate side is i dont think anyone will be seriously interested once i tell them exactly waht that price is. My only hope is that if i hold onto it, the market price will eventually get back to what i want.... but i think im dreamin.

I still enjoy driving it, selling is more of a contingency plan.

anyways, i think i've caused this thread to divert from the tracks....

I plan to drive it, as well as do the shocks/bushes; possibly a new stereo, but must fix the damn window regulator (it annoys me) as well as fit the ute flares. Then the rest is maintenance..

Have you seen the 'Venom' Grille for the low series? It'll be virtually identical, except the opening will be slightly larger. I'm using the Futura grille, removing the chrome strip, cutting out the mouldings for the chrome strip, smoothing it, filling it in, painting it, and backing it with chrome mesh.

You can buy the Venom grille with mesh for about $110, then you have to get it primed, sanded and then painted. This should cost me about $70 in total. Plus it will have a slightly larger opening which should look a little better, and I can say I did it myself.

I'll end up posting something about it in my build thread when I find the time.
