I was going to say someone had already mentioned who the repairer was, but i see it has been amended.
I knew straight away who it was from the pics. Looking good. |

We had a look at the power steering hoses today and have made the decision that we may as well replace them while it is easier to get at them. So my little budget "mini" rebuild, just want to put in a new motor and tidy up the engine bay, is growing as it tends too when you start something like this.
Jack cleaned up the shed and we found all sorts of goodies that he had and were put in a box forgotten about. Jack and I have been buying parts for years...just little things here and there.. as we knew the car needed some work. We also have bought some parts from America that are going to make the car...how can I say...hmmm...UNIQUE I think is the best word for it..can't wait to fit them ![]() We have also decided after reading various comments on here, that we won't try and fit the engine with the extractors attached. We will drop them in first and see how we go. I am loading some pics of bits and pieces I have done today and will post up shortly.

Here are some more pics
This is a pic of the damage that we discovered when we took the motor out. You can see it hit something...when we don't know but it has now been repaired. ![]() Sorry about the quality of this pic. You can see the difference between unpolished and polished though ![]() ![]() I have been using a Mothers Powerball. That thing is fantastic!! Headlight ring before: ![]() Headlight ring after: ![]() I cleaned up the overriders too. ![]()

I cleaned up and painted the new motor and put some of the shiney bits on it.
![]() ![]() ![]() The old motor came out with the extractors on but they were Pacemaker Tri-Y's. The new ones are Pacemaker 4 into 1 with 3in collectors so they will be harder to slide back into the engine bay. I can tell you right now that I am not a fan of grease or breaking nails :( but it will look great when it is completed and I can stand back and smile knowing that at least I gave it a go ![]()

looking great all you need is the car back all in tip top nik so you can drop in the new powerplant i would probably drop the extractors to drop the motor in i know bolting exhaust up is a major pain in the **** but will be better than damaging the fresh engine bay and extractors

You should have enough time to give your coupe a tidy up and maybe a new vinyl roof fitted before Echuca. He does fantastic work. We will definately be bringing our Coupe to him from now on ![]()

I cleaned up the grille. I like the silver highlights.
![]() Then Jack got a hold of it and this is the end result. ![]() I think it will look great on the car. We are having some fun with it...and why not! ![]()

Those flames look fantastic. I love personalised touches on a car.
The motor looks great too. Be careful with those big extractors though. We ended up tossing our 4 into 1s for some Try Ys because we kept scraping every single bump. They look super tuff tho when you get a low photo shot of the front of your car and you can see them hanging under there.

I noticed that too. Looks like a nice marble touch but thought might be moisture or dried water drops.

It is a crackle based paint that has to be baked on. I was not happy a few weeks ago when I came home to what I thought was Jack cooking a nice dinner ...only to see this!

A second look the the paint can revealed he had picked up the wrong can and had picked up the wrinkle finish. He quite liked after the initial shock. ![]() Looking great Louise - well done

Don't mind sharing at all Agony.
![]() They were originally billet motorcycle mirrors that I found on Ebay. ![]() I modifyied them by taking a skull car cigarette lighter, removing the mirror, fixing the skulls on with a nylock nut (so they swivel) and then filled in the ends so they were closed in ![]() This was the where the skulls came from. ![]() Mounted them onto the base of a Monza window winder kit. ![]() I took a Pppp...piece from here and a Pppp...piece from there. ..Clever huh! ![]()

Went to assemble the bumper today and noticed Both mounting brackets are bent to buggery. I have no Idea how the bumper sat on straight with these fitted???
![]() The bracket on the left is how it should look. I need a right hand side bracket. Has any one got a spare one? Cheers Jack
