hey leakey, sorry mate havent been on in abit. yeh theyre replicas i couldnt find any ford stamping or the data dot stuff on the rims anywhere when i inspected them out of curiosity, which obviously made me think they were replicas.

Also an invoice came with them that i didnt even notice until last week, price was $1100 including freight/lock nuts to the guys house from who i bought it from, the shop is in Sydney though maybe check them out? Claremont Tyrepower is what the invoice says. Also i bought 235/40/18 tyres instead of the 225 ones, as the 235's also fit and theyre less expensive, and no worrying on the uneven wear and all that. even though theyre copies.

I reckon i still did pretty good, but when i saw elgreko's price, i went apeshit abit hahaha. unbelievable price, great looking car there elgreko, i love the xr5 rims,

edit: oh and thanks heaps leakey looks pretty good lowered, not sure when i'll be lowering it though.

There's a Ford dealer in Auckland that has a set of XR5 wheels for about NZ $1,200, including nuts and centre caps.. Freight to Oz might be a killer though, and you'd have to pay GST to import them, although you shouldn't have to pay the NZ GST.

Thanks NZ. I ship quite a bit of stuff to NZ, but have never brought anything to OZ. I reckon they would need a pallet, and wrapping, then have to go LCL, which would hike the price by about $500.

Thanks for pointing that out, but I think I'll keep looking locally.

Just console yourself in never knowing what the winning bidder actually bid.
His actual bid may have been hundreds more than yours.

Good point. I'm not too cut up.

I'm also in to Fiat AC 124 sports coupes, and had a big win on some parts.
So, win some, lose some!

...or you could FCL
I'm sure you could sell a container load of XR5 rims easily if the price was right

I had a 1976 Fiat 124 CC. Custard Yellow with wire wheels and sunroof.

Loved that car (but not the electrics!!!)

Those cars are made for twisty mountain roads. One of the best drives of my life was through the Adelaide Hills in the Fiat.....the gearing is just right for those twisting drives

Hmmmm, surprised to find some Fiat 124 lovers here!

Well, I grabbed me an AC bonnet, perfect for 99c, 2 x rear bumpers and 1 x front for 99c, no dings, good chrome, slight surface rust on rear, and a genuine air filter with a few connectors, also 99c. I fet bad for the fella, but he said he's happy they're going to a good home.

I reckon you need to pretty much gut the electrics and start again from scratch.
Fun job, not.

They sound a little easier to get bits for than old Chrysler/mitsubishis.

Back on topic, sort of, I was taking a good close look at a Volvo xc90 at work today (an older one if it makes a difference) and the front brakes look identical to the xr5.

Might make an Affordable(?) upgrade for normal foci..... Maybe.

Volvos are such a versatile car. You can use many bits on Toranas too!
