I've come to kick *** and chew bubble gum, but I'm all outta gum.
I pre-ordered the balls of steel edition online via EB Games (paid $148 for it, big Duke fan) but Australia Post is being Australia Post and it hasn't showed up yet even though they sent it out 3 days ago. I am dissapoint. Also if anyone is up for some Duke Nukem 3D Action, I can post a tutorial on how to get her up and running on todays hardware and get it online for some Duke Matches/Co-op. And remember kids: ALWAYS BET ON DUKE! Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 10-06-2011 at 02:54 PM. |

I picked up my 'balls of steel' edition yesterday.
Killed first 'monster' last night. I am a massive fan and have been waiting patiently for 12 years. I love it, Hail to the king baby!

Well thanks for the info. I saw it at EB the other day but decided to wait a bit. Probably a good decision. |

Its not TOO bad, remember this is a sequel to Duke Nukem 3D (which was made in 1996).
What REALLY annoys me about it is the two weapon system, what is this crap? Duke Nukem 3D you had like 12 guns and could carry them all at once and just switch between as leisure, you had to hunt around everywhere for the ammo for the good guns, now its just, walk into a new area, there'll be two guns which you need exactly to get through the area, rather than trying out your entire arsenal to see which works best. Regenerating health, this ain't Halo, this is Duke Nukem, give me some strategically placed health packs, a medkit and a number that when its on 0 means I'm dead. Duke don't run and hide to regenerate health, he kicks ***. Movement, you walk/run slow as hell. Multiplayer isn't as good as Duke Nukem 3D, no 8 player co-op, theres death match but again, its not fast enough. Weapon sounds lack punch, they suck big time. If you're a big fan of Duke Nukem 3D you can look past all of this and its worth picking up now, but I don't reckon its worth the $148 I payed for the collectors edition. Go to http://www.play-asia.com/Duke_Nukem_...n-70-4940.html and you can get it cheap, legit copy, I use this site a lot for PS3 games. They should have released this when it was 90% complete in 2008, before 3DR got sued and closed down, the reason was the head of 3D Realms came to Take 2, the publisher for some money for development citing the game was nearly done, they demanded evidence/proof the game was nearly complete, or no money and the head of 3D Realms basically told them to F off and fired all his developers and closed the company, then proceeded to get sued by Take 2, the law suit got settled a while later and gearbox studios took over the development and just finished it off. If anyone here is up for Duke Nukem 3D multiplayer, let me know and I'll create a guide on how to play it on modern computers and get it running online with others. |

I think the reviews posted have shattered my little heart.... That and Norton AV effed up my brand new pc so I can't bloody play it anyway...
You would think after 14 years they would of done better. Is there going to be another instalment where they can put more effort into it?
