does nobody stop to think that all the negativity on this site lately is doing more damage to the brand?! if someone interested in falcon types falcon into a search engine such as google, they'll come across various threads from this site, and i wouldn't blame them if they ran a mile after reading much of the dribble lately. i joined a few ford forums because i love my fords and want to see them continue for a while yet. i have no idea why many of you joined. |

sorry mate, but when I read those numbers - it actually looked pretty negative to me. Nobody in their right mind could take a bright sunny view on the falcon based on those stats - no matter what forces are responsible for sales drops.
I can understand the fustration you must be feeling at reading this stuff all the time (honestly) maybe just don't read it if it upsets you that much? Quote:

Current production is around 4400/month, allowing for ten full months production and two half months (Jan & Dec),
that would suggest a maximum combined of 48,000 vehicles..... Hmm, let's see with improvements in sedan, Ute and fresh Terry: Falcon - 22,000 Ute - 10,000 Territory - 16,000 |

I will also add a further breakdown of 2,000 sales for FPV. (Noting that they are included in the sedan and ute totals already.) PS I've a few things going at the moment. Depending on those outcomes later in the year, I plan to be adding to that FG2 Ute tally. S/C V8 FPV GS in manual.

Keep up the good work prydey. To the others who know who they are. Take it to PM and whinge to each other. The Falcon, Ute, Territory and all the Ford range are TERRIFIC products. Many of which are class leading are almost universally the most enjoyable to drive.

Falcon Platform makes a 10% gain on Commodore platform on domestic sales.
Holden reports net loss (Hidden by "One offs") Ford Au Reports a profit. Holden releases Edsel, P76, and Niva - all sell over 1000 per month all year. Holden press release predicts Caprice PPV sales to to 500/month, and adjusts manufacturing accordingly - leading to dumping 425 per month on the NZ market. |

The economy is a mess right now and private and fleet buyers will be thinking hard about their purchases. Add in the other factors, like the swing away from large cars and I am thinking the new engines and FG2 etc will basically just be enough to hold ground.
17500 to 18500 is my prediction. If Ford do something stupid with the car, like have early build problems with the Ecoboost, 16000 sales as the media will savage Falcon. Territory should do the same or slight worse then 2011. |

Ecoboost and a full years liquid injection LPG availability along with the FG2 model refresh and attractive run-out deals on FG1 should all be good positives for Falcon in 2012 and I agree its a very important year. My guess is 21,500 units plus 2,000 FPV's.

Any estimates of Sales Volume for the calendar year may need to factor in production down days @ Broady.......................

Yesterday when walking around St Leonards at lunch time I noticed a new G6E FGII silver taxi, whats funny is that an FG1 identical taxi was like 2 cars ahead ...
Anyways this is the first time that I seen an FGII GE car and I think its a step backwards ... the front grill is way too oversized, the LED lights seem to be a total afterthought and for some reason were not even on (car was idling in traffic) ... I was never a fan of the GE look but the FGII in my opinion simply looks worse ... P.S. I would not trade fog/driving lights for the useless LEDs, at least with the fogies/driving lights you get more light and its useful ... |

Posting a reply to "Boss-JP-Vz,"..........So ,as of this morning we hear on that Giagantor of a Grapevine, that ,wait for it ,in the latter half of the calender year FOA will give 22 down days @ Broady..!!!!!
From our perspective, hmmmm? They are taking virtualy no stock from us,both Falcon n Terri,on the other hand,i spend 90 % of my day sometimes Quality checking on stock bound for Elizabeth, large volumes too.....the level playing field has turned into those pommies falling down hills to get a lump of cheese... |

If neither of those strategies work, then those figures will be signioficantly less and the decision on the next big car will be based on those real world figures..... Just my opinion: If we have another year like 2011, Ford won't muck about with Falcon and change will come before 2016 and will probably be in the form of: 1) cancellation of 2014 update 2) extension of FG II to mid 2014 3) Replaced by FWD and AWD versions of Fusion/Mondeo... |

Says to me that Falcon sales had stabilised around 30k for Falcon and 12k for the ute prior to the dropping of the wagon and Egas. Even the 2010 figure is consistent with that given the Egas was killed in Sept or Oct. From memory wagons were about 400/mth so say 4500 sales gone there, and that half the previous Egas customers won't return as they are happy with whatever they bought instead, and I am thinking jpd80 is in the ballpark. However the economic uncertainty could put a dent in that and the market as a whole. |
