I challenge anyone here to drive a 4.9 sec car, then a 4.5 sec car and tell the difference without timing it.
In my opinion, anything under 5 seconds is fast, anything under 4 seconds is "push you back in your seat" fast !!

HSV W427 (edit|talk|history|protect|links|watch|logs)
Temporary semi-protection: This page continues to be attacked by non-registered users since it was linked to from a popular forum and should be locked until activity from the forum thread cools down. NJM2010 (talk) In otherwords... They don't want to know that the W427 can be bettered buy the R-spec.

These parts made me laugh
It produced 417.6 kW (560 bhp) @ 6000 rpm, a top speed of 288 km/h (179 mph) and could sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 44 seconds. the FPV GT-R spec can do 0-100km/h in 4.57se The W427 was a very over priced commodore (in which only bogan aussie 'tough guys' drive) in really *edit* Just refreshed it and it has been deleted

this is the quote. after they go one about the HRT 427. I made sure I put this in as they where going on about acceleration claims. now that I have quoted this they should never put up the claim of HSV W427 being the quickest car produced in australia |

Wikipedia is a handy site, shame to see people graffitiing legit pages (even if the Hulk BA post made me laugh)

I've never been overly interested in the 427 in anything more than a very passing way. Myself and a lot of other people were surprised, perplexed, and puzzled when a 427 won the Bathurst Production Car race when, at the time, they'd only built one of them as an exercise and somehow Holden were allowed to put it in the race..."production"...?
