Definitely has to be a factor. You wonder how young families can afford flash new cars when mortgages are so high?

A 1.6 Ecoboost engine is already available on the European Focus but whether
or not Ford sees fit to make future engine changes remains to be seen.. |

Wouldnt want to be in Opels shoes, with this pricing, same turbo engine as the Astra. Looks like Holden is happy to take a swing at the local Opel operation also.

Ford have been rewarded worldwide with the current Focus becoming the number 1 selling vehicle worldwide in 2012. Fiesta and Focus were No1 and No2 in Europe.

Interesting that one of the reasons falcon is spruiked is because its locally built, and some sins are glossed over because of that. But cruize doesn't seem to share that same luxury.
Is that because its a Holden or because its only locally assembled, rather than made? Personally I'd buy the sriv over a focus, I don't like the new look of the focus, and its not made here. And that's a really good price.... |

Most people reckoned my RX-8 with 140rwkw or so was quick as ****, so no - most people don't give it a 2nd thought as long as it'll go around with 4 people without feeling like an old Hyundai

If I was shopping for a small car I'd wait until there were a few more reviews out there instead of hanging one's hat on one review. A back to back comparo like some of the other writers do with like 5 cars would be better.

Yeah the Focus and Golf are the benchmarks. I think at this point though it would be number 1 for me as it is Australian made and one of the better small cars. The Focus or Golf would have to be significantly better for me to overlook a good value, good driving Australian made car.
