They should retire the Territory name, and call the replacement the "Manther". That way Ford can have the 'Kuga' and "Manther" and appeal to the 40 something young kid parents who might occasionally dream of a younger model...

Completely agree. Loss of petrol AWD with the SZ model was a blow to it. And prefer the original styling too, like Raptor said.

Why not import Ford Edge, Flex, Explorer and Expedition and really make a North American assault on the SUV class?

The 2017 Explorer could pass as a Territory.
The back half looks like an evolution of the design.

But why would they change the name of Explorer to Territory even if there did bring it here.

Because in America, the "S" stands for "Spacious" and the "U" stands for "Urban."

We once almost bought a Honda MDX. Beautiful SUV, we ere going to trade up the family bus from The Odyssey...
Until we test drove one.

I could not figure out how HONDA could make such a ponderous land-barge, until I found out they were made in NA for the US market.
Not surprisingly Honda dropped it shortly thereafter.

Also, Aussie dollar is once again in the crapper.

More likely we'll get whatever they can make cheap in Thailand or SA.

Like the Falcon, the Territory replacement is to be found in the BMW or Merc stable. Take your pick.

Since when? Its been sports utility vehicle from day dot. The utility word is key as they were developed to bypass emmission laws for passenger cars that were not required for comercial cars.

I think if they bring out the Edge it will be a flop, if they bring the Explorer it will be a hit.

DSG is an issue for me too, otherwise I was looking forward to the Edge.

I'm a big Fan of the Explorer IMO it would have covered Territory and Everest in one Model.
But Apart from no RHD Platform there's No Diesel, and its a big vehicle.

I saw a few Explorers in Philippines recently. From the rear they seem like a natural evolution of the Territory as someone mentioned.

I liked the look of them and pity it's LHD only. I'd definitely be interested. Seems like might have to keep this Terri a few more years!

The Ford boys worked in China for the Chinese Taurus, surely they can work on the Chinese 7 seat Edge for Australia.
