Thanks doc, although i think betting on 1 will be hard enough for me, let alone 2nd and 3rd! Guess i'll just put $5 on Lecia Falcon

Yes Charlie if there is a late scratching everything is adjusted and any $ refunded to your account that is needed, for eample if you box 5 and there is a late scratching the difference in $ between box 5 and 4 horses is refunded and your bet is then set to the remaining 4 horses boxed.

I just put $25 on Makybe Diva for the win, $25 on Leica Falcon for a place, $10 on Xcellent for a place, $25 on a Makybe Diva/Leica Falcon quinella, and $15 on a Makybe Diva/Lecia Falcon/Eye Popper trifecta. I've won a bit of money the last two years on Makybe Diva, so I can't help but stick with her depsite her weight. When it comes to horse racing, I tend to listen to what Bruce McAvaney has to say, as it has done me well in the past. What I have picked this year is close to his selections. I won't really mind losing a bit of money, but know I would have kicked myself if I didn't put any money on Makybe Diva. Here's hoping she runs and does well. Good luck to all of you who have a bet!

Doc.. I heard from Gerard Daffy (sports bet) that one of his worst results (besides Makybe winning) would be Rizon! At the calling of the card a punnter had a $1000 each way at 200s... Its now 40s I think

I've put $50 on a box trifecta.

Makybe Diva, Railings and boxed the field for third. Fingers crossed.

Jeez some of you guys waste alot of money on this race.

In saying that, and I'm not a betting man, but this is really the only time of year I bet on horses.

My bet is on Leica Falcon, and it better go like a Falcon, first on race day. Heh, heh, heh.

Others include Railings, Eye Popper and Mr. Celebrity as a roughie.

Well, I don't bet on the horses at all the rest of the year. So I see my once a year bet on the Cup as the time to be a bit daring ($50 for a bit of excitement). It's the Aussie way.

Even my son asked me to put a bit of his money on it because his mate's parents did it, and the mate won money last year. So he wanted to give it a go. I discussed with him the perils of gambling, and held up one of our acquaintances as a prime example of what happens when you go down that path... I think I scared the shyte outta him lol.

Got a pick for another race today, like the name and it's last three starts...

Race 10
Number 16 - Rokocoko (after the All Blacks winger)

Last three starts are 3-5-1. That's a bloody omen. The only horse in the entire meeting with that exact last three starts.
