the orange is overkill, centre dash is BA/BF styling although FORD did NOT design it they too copied some euro....say goodbye to aftermarket head units in the dash though..LOL

good on holden for doing it maybe Ford and holden can save more money by selling each other interchangable parts...and spend more on the car...who knows...its what i would do

anyways go holden good and brave move...you wont see me in a holden though...not exactly my type of car

why?
alpine have the alpine hub for the ford unit which is pretty awesome, almost like an aftermarket headunit which retains the ford controls......

im sure, as more cars come on the market with ICC's the other big name stereo bwands will bring out their versions

Good point Micky T as I'd like to know where exactly they were scanned from. Anyway, I like it apart from the colour coded dash and that shifter.

The Dash looks disgusting, something you'd expect to see at a child care centre. While the shifter looks like it was plucked straight from an AU with a forward mounting shift button on it.

Oh, and if you don't believe my reaction, just take a look at my avatar as to what my son thinks of it.

They are located right infront of the door handle. The worst position in my opinion. Stretching forward everytime to open/close the windows.

I got flamed for saying so on ls1. Any subjective critisism gets flamed. You either luv it or keep your mouth shut I have found out over there.

At least I can say it here. The colour looks plain sh#t.

i'm sure if ford put it in the falcon you would say it was the best thing since sliced bread.

These pics are poor quality scans from wheels magazine, in the mag they look much much better

theres your credit :

I don't mind it save the coloured dash. That is so 80's. I thought the day sof the coloured dash went with the VL, too bad I was wrong. Coloured seat inserts are cool though, but coloured dash's look so cheap.

It wasn't credited in the original post, but why do you care anyway?

On another note, the centre console looks very Japanese, which I like, but the red looks really unprofessional.

I would say the orange looked like crap no matter what car it was in.

More interested in the content and by the looks of it there is plenty there to hold interest. Gone are the multiple small displays to be replaced with a centre Audi type screen. Additionally they look to have decided against the BA/BF one screen fits all approach and have a number of options for further information display.

I am guessing the large stereo sat nav option is non touch screen.

Not a fan of the shapeless rear seats and the leather looks flat. Not my cup of tea.

If some of those interiors are meant to be lower models then they look more cohesive.

Nice to see the car mags get one up on the net for once ;)

The red dash by its self looks a bit off but i think on a red SS it would look ok. Aslong as the finish is nice it should look ok.

I was hoping that dash colour was some kind of masking...guess not...Not a Fan at all...it looks like it belongs in a Taxi Pack...it looks like some kid has decided to rice up his interior and air brush it red...If Ford did that, i'd be knocking at their door for a please explain...just plain tasteless ans OTT

OMG you so did not just say that, it's hillarious. EL passed, but the AU is just damn shocking, the BA/F passes but its still bland as it the VY/Z dash, but there is nothing horrible about it. VT interior had it all over the AU and BA/F, the VT would have to be one of the nicests interiors I have seen in a car especally the Calais and STatesman models.

And you can get flamed here as well for the same thing, but on that note I must say im just under 6 foot and I cannot see me having to "stretch" AT ALL! A lot of cars have them there nothing wrong with it.

Display on the top of the centre stack stolen from Barina or Astra?

Im guessing the colour dash is leather, or faux leather to match the seats. Its a bit overpowering for mine.

So base models get old fashioned non-tipronic 4 speed auto and flat centre console.

S and SS get tiptronic 6 speed(or 5?) and lairy coloured dash

and top of line gets steering wheel buttons for tranny and hooded centre display with vent controls and buttons stolen from falcon.

Plug ugly glove box shape and generally ugly dash.

the best thing is with the similar interior the ford looks better...probably feels better and is ergonomically designed better..IE placement of the power window buttons, door handle, door opener...best thing is the centre console glove box..perfect height for resting your arm and still be able to reach the gear lever

I do not understand why people are saying it looks really similar to the BA-BF dash.

It doesnt, i cant see any real resemblence, apart from the fact there is a vertical centre console...

The VT was styled to the trends of 1997/8/9 when it was released but since then the styling trends have changed and the euro style is in which is how the ba/f vy/z are designed.
Also keep in mind that this is a Ford Forum and by openly running down past falcons you run the risk of being flamed so just keep that in mind.
