Dealers are now taking orders for these things i believe - question is, what the hell is it?

Or more to the point, does it really exist?

Either way, makes for some interesting reading... it:

How can a dealer take an order? without letting a customer know that it exists, surely no-one would put an order on a car without knowing wether its an FPV or Ford, I6 or 8, Turbo, NA or S/C, ... i could go on for hours.

I wanna know now damn it!

I agree..... My view atm is rumour and conjecture.

However I have complete faith in Motor spilling the beans and rocking the barrel like they did with the BF launch, or maybe Ford / FPV have learnt a lesson....

Ford - learn - nah......

I remember a while back people putting down deposits for GTHO's the order had a clause that if the car was not built guy got his money back. Otherwise his deposit secured his place in the queue.

There have been more than enough clues posted here and in the BF2 thread......

Many seem to have worked it out and have not blabbed yet.

Force 6 and Force 8? This is either side of a Force 7.

In the '70s there was a Leyland Force 7 where only 50 something were built before Leyland fell over. It was supposedly a very nice car however.

How will this work with such a precedent?

Well, like I said, the Fairlane G8 happened, but the G6 didn't, so the Force 6 may be the F6 replacement, but the Force 8 may not be made...

So can we assume Force 6 and Force 8 are the equivalent of a Calais V?
For have raided their parts bin in an attempt to steal the limelight from Holden and the Calais V?
It seems to me theyve put the XR6/8 sideskirts and rear skirt on the Ghia (added the unique mark 2 front end) and will add either the xr6t engine (its about time,I remember rumours of a Ghia turbo back in 02), or the xr8 engine (but wheres the bonnet bulge? another new bonnet maybe?

The Fairmont Ghia will line up against the Calais V, the Calais V is pretty much the VZ Calais. The Force 6/8 will be FPV products.

From that skyline thread
"As far as I know its based on the Fairmont , It will have either the F6 4L or the Boss V8. I haven't seen any pics yet but its going to have a subtle body kit ie no rear spoiler"

What if the force 6 and force 8 are aimed at people who want GT performance but not the wild body kit? What if they are executive expresses?

Perhaps they are just GT -P and Typhoon running gear in Fairmont ghia or Fairlane bodies and trim with only small "elegant" body kit? A bit like the Grange or Senator.

Mechanically there might be nothing or very little difference to what we have now. Perhaps some fiddling with suspension, computer and tranny mapping. Super luxury cruisers, not hard edge performance cars.

It would be cheap to engineer and build and open a new market and sell a few more cars.

So.. thats my guess. kinda hope I'm wrong tho.

To be honest, I think that a subtle boy racer car would be better as the GT and GT-P, and the more agressive bodykited FPV Force 6/8

like the sprint? that would be nice.

isnt the gtp already the luxobarge though based on the fairmont ghia?
i doubt they would go with the lwb bodies seeing how their slaes and resale are going downhill fast.

It's all rumour, conjecture and innuendo until someone releases an official press release.

What is there to be so secret about. The F6 and F8 concept is just a Faimont Ghia Luxury car with an option box to tick either a F6 (TURBO ENGINE) and a F8 (BOSS 290) engine.Quite simple and it is aimed to combat the Senator type class. :party3:
Cheers AF

Agreed, can't see em putting that much performance into a luxo car when there are considerations for things like leather seats - in a tricked up 290 or 270kw fairmont ghia you'd slide all over the seat. I reckon it would be either a xr6t motor, or an xr8 motor or better yet, a supercharged 3v.
