I was thinking of ny an XR6T. But then Ill have to come up with about 20 grand to buy it and do a LITTLE work on it. Id rather spend 15 to 20 grand beefing up the engine and trans and go for a 500 hp turbo AU. Plus its got the extra niceness of looking like an au.

If Chrysler made a 300C SRT8 ute ... I'd get one.
But in the meantime .... nup ... I tried selling the AU ... you get nothing for them. It's still worth money to me ... it's the only vehicle that has paid itself off and earnt money. Why get rid of it I say.

Recently sold my AU Ghia, Liquid silver, black interior and traded 'up' to a BA XR6........I want my AU back!!!!! Now I rekon I would do a direct swap. I like my BA but both very different cars. The AU, in many respects, was way better..........

If the resale value was remotely inticing I'd throw it out quicker than 6 week old milk. I guess in that regard its self-sustaining

Black XR8 220 with a rebel kit. Or an XP with a nice healthy 351c.

I rekon I would be happy to exchange my keys for a Mazda 6 MPS turbo or Subaru Liberty GT Turbo.(plus cash difference!) Certainly better built, equipped and better quality than an AU Falcon, but you did ask!

I'm not sure I would go Ford with my next buy.
I like the Typhoon, and the Xr6T's etc, but i'm thinking I might go Mazda 6 MPS, or a Honda Accord Euro Sport. Not so much performance, but more luxury etc. |

No plans to get rid of the AU, not before I fit the 351 stroker w/2.8L KB blower anyway....
...but i would seriously love to get my **** behind the wheel of a Valiant again. A tidy VE Regal in white with blue interior, and a fuel injected 360. Just for cruising on weekends. And a berko, stripped out VK Charger with the 265, CHI cylinder head, and Webber style EFI...big converter, short gears, stacks of revs...blah, blah. And then a nice little 1970 AAR 'Cuda in Alpine White. And then one of those mini's converted to rear-wheel-drive with the 1300cc Hayabusa engine. And then a Ducati 916 to get to work on weekdays.

I plan on sticking with my AU for a few more years... and then I'll buy another one. Probably an XR8 or T-series if I'm lucky enough to find one at the time. But I plan on spending a heap on my next car, doing it up. I love the look of the AU XRs, whereas to me, the BA/BF XRs look too similar to your everyday BA/BF (I'm still a huge fan of their looks though.)
Depending on my financial situation in a few years' time, I'd SERIOUSLY consider an FPV like an F6/F8 Typhoon or Tornado (I'd test drive a few,) or I might have a look at what other FORDs are on the market at the time. As much as I love the look of the BAs and BFs (as long as they have spoilers - to me, these cars MUST have spoilers!) it's somewhat mitigated by the fact that THEY ARE EVERYWHERE AND THERE ARE SO FREAKIN' MANY OF THEM! I've seen about 7 or 8 DIFFERENT FPVs and GTs in the last few days, and I simply CANNOT manage to drive down any road or street without driving past at least one BA/BF. It's quite incredible actually; it never ceases to amaze me. I live in the Donvale/Doncaster area (Melbourne) and I see surprisingly few VE Commodores! |

I can't vote because it says "IF" I sold - AND THAT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!
The most likely option for me is - "when will you buy another one?" |

[Edit] There may be one exception to the above. I might, just might, consider a BF LTD, if for no other reason than to be different. |

Resale has dived in the last 2 years and I couldn't let it go for the measly $12 odd grand it would get. Decision made: keep it, spend some money on replacing shocks, etc and let the wife drive the fancy stuff. **** |
