Well since the young'ns are here, I'll introduce myself. I'm 15. Naturally, I haven't driven a car over 45km/h (let alone on a road with other... things), so don't worry.

As for the youth of today, I will agree, some are real *********. I surround myslef in youth in a school, and they come in all sorts of varieties. That said, there are a lot who are nice people, and who you can get along with like a well oiled machine.

yeah, lets have our own whacking day!!!.
nah, i'm just eighteen about two months ago and i ahve an older brother who is 24. i am alot more mature than he is, its a known fact.

the difference between how i was bought up and him is he was given everything as a kid got away with everything, took almost going to jail to wake him up but he never really got better still drives around like a f$%ing &^^$head

where as with me, i had to do everything myself, tought myself to even drive(manual), bloody hell. got in trouble for that one. i have fun with the boys but we never and i say NEVER involve anyone else. we just give eachother *****

it part its the parents fault and the kids fault but only because that how they were bought up but they should take responsibility for their actions

I agree with you there... I hate it when people use all these abbrieviations that half the time don't even make the words shorter. I am 13 by the way (14 in two weeks) and can't say I really see that many young people vandalising things etc, but maybe thats just who I hang around with.

Yeah, but it's only some of my friends who use it, but it's not constant. that's awesome!! i'm not the youngest! . . . . lol. well, some group of vandals had come in during the night and just spray painted over ALL the walls in the school. it was really a stupid thing to do. the people i hang around with aren't that bad, but we dont go around vandalising stuff and etc. but what kid is an angel? but some just know when it's time to quit.

Public vandalism is what yound people do, because it is something that is not hard to do, but will still make them known. I can't imagine what goes through their heads when they do it. "I want to bignote myself as a hardcore so people will think I am cool etc. I know, I'll ruin the time, money and effory put into painting this wall by defacing it! My god I am a legend." What's the point. Some people just don't get it...

I think my family is sort of a good example of even having the same parents can churn out two different people.

Myself. I am a mature person, well educated and have grasped the concept well and trully between right and wrong.

My brother on the other hand is a complete ****head. He is very immature, not educated at all, and has no concept between right and wrong. He is a bong head and drinks way too much.

He spends his money on things not important and cracks the shits when he has nothing.

The cops have been to our house 4 times in the last year easilly one time being just last week. It's pretty sad when you can pass off police attendance at your house as routine.

Always bragging how much money he earns then always bludging off everyone else and expecting everyone to do everything for him

We both had the same parents, I was brought up in the same house except when I was belted for doing something wrong I never did that again.

And the saddest part is we have for the most part had a very comfortable living circumstances.

Discipline works, I am testament to that. Remember discipline and abuse are too different things and a lot of people could do with a boot in the bum.

A foot up my **** hasn't done me any harm. I'm going north while he is going south!

Youth these days...pffft.

From the stories I have heard youth has been like this forever and was probably worse behaved in the baby boomer generation.

Man you're getting locked up haha.

EDIT:
Just like to add, anyone else here who works in any sort of retail i'm sure has noticed that the ratio of people who screw-up and make the rest look bad to those that actually aren't bad has shifted quite a bit... 7/10 people are just dickheads.. I look forward to serving the sane ones.

I'm the eldest of 4 and I've found that, out of all of my siblings and I, the ones who were given/babied the least were the ones that turned out the best. One of my sisters (who was given all the attention) is now in a really bad way and for legal reasons, I don't talk to her friends. She seems to expect that everyone is going to bail her out. My brother and I are doing pretty well (him better than me) and we were often made to do things for ourselves (like saving for a car) . Lets just say that my parents are now carefully moderating how much 'looking after' we all get.

I agree with Mitch... it's a bit more noticable in my house.. there's 6 kids, myself being the oldest at 20, 5 younger sisters beneath me.
The oldest 3 were brought up with the leather belt/wooden spoon if we mucked up... myself more so being the only male. I've now been at uni 1 year, and worked the same decent paying job for 3, the twins have just started working but can't really handle it. (this is without uni or school to juggle).
The younger three... zip. You can see it in their attitudes already (ages 11-14) they are disobedient and get their way 9/10.
It's not just a few cases here, I think you'll find in most house holds with several kids the older ones are generally better behaved... the parents just seem to slack off... must be hard work after having to deal with the first one so the just turn apathetic when more come along.... just a thought.

In my house it's just me and my brother. he's 21 and im 14. 7 years different, of course there is going to be fights but that's natural in families, with brother's and sisters. but i think me and my brother are doing really well for ourselves, we may get our way SOME of the time, but it doesn't go to our heads.

Some people are just pricks, and it's getting more frequent.. Me and my mate got chased by about 15- 20 fully sik wogs at the Ozone (knox shopping centre outdoors bit if people don't know) for sticking up for chicks we knew who they were throwing food at in hungry jacks!

Was in the pub last week, couple guys stole my female friends ID/Licence. Me and my mate approached them about it and they lied and started threatening us.. Then one of them pulled out the ID and showed it to another friend being smart, ended up being pretty physical with me and the guy until I got it back.

I've being in crown/south yarra when I was with my ex and had someone threaten me because they were checking here out/yelling out smart remarks so I told em to ease up.. One then came up and grabbed me whilst two more kept yelling ****.

I've also had the 'friends' of said ex surround my car (about 10 of them drunk, one put a case of beer on my bonnet the rest were tapping/hitting my car) threaten to smash in my windscreen, pull me out of the car and beat the **** out of me if I didn't move my car etc.

Some people are pathetic really.. Thing is, I can look after myself pretty well, but when there's 10 of the bastards and you're not with mates you just gotta hold your tongue and walk away, which sucks, lol. This has all happened in the last month or so, which has being pretty full on. I don't usually react to stuff like I said above, as when you're out these days it can happen quite a bit, just lately it's being bugging me.

Sad.

We had a case similar to this on Saturday. I play cricket for the local league and we were in Gawler South, enjoying the game (although we lost). Anyway, 3 idiots decided that instead of walking around the oval, they'd walk across it, disrupting our game. We couldn't play whilst they were on the oval. We told them to get off, and they just shouted back idiotic comments and kept on walking across the oval.
Bloody idiots. :

Catch the idiots and do mind altering chip implantation in their brains.

Just kidding

Its all to do with the lack of discipline and respect kids have today.

The implantation won't hurt much, He He.

I've had that happen to me. Me and a bunch of mates were playing rugby and about 3 idiots decided to walk across the field. We told them to get off and walk around but they yelled obscenities back. So my mate punted the ball into their area a minute later and we all ran over and knocked them over. hahaha

I will agree. My father hated hitting me, but he knew he had to, and I genuinely appreciate his actions today. If it weren't for strong discipline, I'd still be uncontrolable. (I used to always break things and generally be rude I think.)

Today, there are too many do-gooders who think that discipline is abuse. This is why the young ones are growing into a society filled with anarchy and abuse of illicit material, etc. I'm saddened by it, becuase children are becoming more smarmy, and we are leaving a better world for them than they deserve.

Wow......after reading all these posts i've been thinking about how bad things are gonna be in a few years... because its not getting better at all, Maybe a curfew for younger kids might be a good idea? stop them getting out at nighttimes and doing bad things.

It's also nice to see a lot of young members here, they seem very mature!

Cheers all.

I wish the cops had the power to exercise use of their batton/pistol more often.

If you knew you were going to get pistol whipped or beaten instead of a slap on the wrist, I doubt you would do it again.

Totally agree with you. I was disciplined when I was young, but my old man had the sense to knowing when to give me a good whack and to discuss reasons why it was wrong. Coming from an asian background, I copped a fair few hits, I can tell you - Asian parents will use the cane without any hesitation.

One thing I've learnt is that if you want respect, you have to first give respect.

AArrrg!! ******* ****S!!

I'm getting so sick of this ****.. I was out last night at a friends place, and everyone had their cars parked out front. A friend comes out back and asks who's one of the cars is because the back windscreen has being smashed... We all go out front and have a look, back windscreens gone, and they tried to steal the front numberplate (half hanging off).. And there's a white commonwhore ute just up the road with it's hazards on.. Looks sus, so we start to walk up and they **** off.. One guy was standing there talking to em and he ran off to the side street.. me and a mate run after him and there's a car full of the dick heads waiting there.. We keep running and the pussies get in the car and drive off... Thing is, they drove back up the street we're on. They kept their lights off n **** so we couldn't get ready and just yelled **** as they drove past.. Then everyone came up our way as we were looking for anyone really, and the bastards drove back the other way and put two bottles through the back windscreen of another car, then drove off completely!!
WTF
Who the hell does that ****.. I had to spend a night comforting my best mate because she's got enough **** on her plate already, and that was the icing.. ******* gets me.. You can stand up to the dick heads but they're too gutless to face anything!!!

/rant.

Aint that the truth! Even if they go to court, they just plead they have drug dependence, parents abused them etc and get a slap on the wrist only to be doing the same thing again.
