Hey guys, my wife has just picked up her new 2007 LX Focus and needless to say it has the same issue... i mean "new safety feature" ;) Just wondering if anyone has managed to find out what the Ford process is to disable this?
Thanks in advance |

I took a zetec for a test drive today and it did the same thing, the guy who came with me who works there at ford said right away it was annyoing and he had no idea it made that noise.
But yeah if i do buy a new one to replace my old one i will want that noise to be disabled, its crap. |

That's cr@p that they're telling you it can't be done :
When I BOUGHT my Zetec, the dealer told me "yeah, the beep is really annoying, you'll probably want to get it disconnected at the first service". Indeed, at my 1500km service, I asked them to disconnect it and they did it at no charge. That was at City Ford in Sydney. It still does the seatbelt beep, but no more reverse beep.

You guys clearly haven't been in an American car then. They have beeps for everything, doors open, seat belts, lights, basically anything that could turn into a pathetic lawsuit they have to cover. And its not your normal beep, it digs right into your brain.
Anyway, good to hear this is the only "issue".

Thanks Matty, I will give them a call.
Polyal, I can tolerate all the other bells and whistles when it comes to warnings, but having a long narrow driveway, the reversing alarm gets to me lol Thank for the replies. |
