I have gone with righthand lane huggers but also hate DISTRACTED DRIVERS because I was a truck driver for years and have seen a moron in the righthand lane on the freeway holding everyone up driving with his elbows, eating a bowl of cereal !!! Also, believe it or not, I have also passed an idiot in the righthand lane tossing himself off, I mean can't you what 'til you get home?

I hate it when I'm in the fast lane overtaking a car doing 5km under the limit and someone comes from behind at about 20km over the limit, tailgates impatiently, and when I do get to pull into the left lane said tailgater whizzes past only to slow down 50 metres in front to the signed speed limit. I can only figure this type of driver tries to use others as a shield from the cameras and gets shy when the lead vehicle.

Hah should see my work trucks tailgate !!! Tailgaters hate me!!!
Three bumps up the back the last 6 months on same tailgate..
I want one of those P plates that allow you to drive through traffic
like an emergency vehicle...Wait a minute I drive one....But no P plates...

Right hand lane huggers apart from being the most hated also tend to cause the majority of the other sins. For e.g. tailgaters, are more likely to tailgate a car behind a right lane hugger, road chekers would be less likely to do that if everyone was moving at a steady pace, distracted drivers would be far less likely to be distracted if the idiot up front was not doing 40km/h in a 100 zone (yes it has happend to me, looong line of cars, nowhere to overtake and moron at front doing 40k's. Of course as soon as the road turned to 2 lanes he put his foot down to well over the speed limit until the next section where he once again slowed down to 40 k).

However getting these type of drivers off the road does not provide sufficient revenue so nothing will happen in the foreseeable future.

Nothing like road checking into the mystery lane while munching on a whopper.

I believe the RH lane huggers are helped along by the way they mark out the lanes.

The RH lane is continuous, whilst the LH lanes have the vehicles merging in from the freeway entries. Also here in Vic the LH lanes are discontinuous so you need to keep changing lanes for that reason, if you do try to drive in the left lane. So drivers sit in the RH lane as they therefore aren't affected by the merging traffic or lanes that end.

In England, it is the RH lane that is discontinuous and is therefore is an overtaking lane only. The LH lane is continuous coming from the motorway entry, so cars entering dont need to merge into the traffic. So if you keep driving in the RH lane, you end up having to move over to the left as the lane ends (or get flashed at by a rapidly approaching Jaguar or something with its headlights flashing, as some dont muck about with speed limits).
Big no-no driving in anything other than the left lane in England, and you're not allowed to overtake on the left either. But the roads there are designed so you can drive in the left lane.

Tailgaters really do it to me. You know ... 90km/h and a mere 2 metres from the car infront is a really good idea, even if it is wet. That extra 10 metres will get you to your destination a hell of alot quicker!

Distracted drivers, Or just lazy, ignorant ones that forget what their responsibilities are as a driver.
Let me take you down memory lane for a second....
A few weeks ago, Dual lane 70km/h zone.
I am in the left lane, Woman in the right about 3m in front of my bumper.
She starts to get closer to my lane, doing about 65k's. crosses the line and jerks the wheel back almost to the gutter.
So i drop back just incase. She pulls up at a red light with the rear wheels of her X5 well past the ped-crossing line. and reverses back, prompting a loud blaring horn from the approaching kenworth.
So i look over and say "How about you pay attention to the road instead" (She was eating some kind of wrap with one hand and had her phone in the other)
What she said, with her 3 kids in the back, shocked me.
She replied "mind you own fu--ing c--t"
And then floored it THROUGH the red light!
Since then i have noticed those playing with their hair, talking with their hands, picking up stuff on the passenger floor and sms/calling people.

And that folks is what grinds my gears. (aside from not engaging the clutch).

I went with distracted drivers, as I think that is the underlying cause of options 2 to 4. I am probably option 1, but only to distance myself from drivers that fit into options 2 to 5!

I really wish they would police this, but as there is more money to be made fining drivers for doing 4klm over the limit they don't bother.

I voted for all. Another one that annoys me is the tool that speeds up when he's about to be overtaken. When I go to overtake, I'm not looking for a race. I just want to drive at the speed limit, not below it. I try to be a courteous driver, moving over to let people merge in, sticking to the left lane as much as possible, so I'd like to be treated the same. Probably one of the most disgusting bits of driving I saw was a few years ago. I was in the left of 3 lanes that merged into 2, so I put the indicator on. All of a sudden the Corolla in the middle lane, put the foot down and pulled up next to me. I slowed a bit to get in behind it, but he slowed down too. In the end I had to come to a stop in the left lane, because he wouldn't let me in. This made it impossible to merge because everyone else were doing 80. I was standing still. After a while a Commodore driver saw this, slowed down and let me in. I was very thankful to the Commodore driver for this.

My most hated is Terrified Mergers for sure. Especially when I'm stuck behind them.

I'll admit to 2 & 3 though (have been fined for 3), I'd class myself as an aggressive driver.

I know exactly what you mean:

I see them all the time on Monash Fwy, where the (closed) exit lane off Eastlink merges with M1 (eastbound), I honked at one that was just getting on the lane and he flipped me off.
Oh, and I don't let them in later :evil3:

Any comments on this situation?- I forgot to put it in the poll

They're all bad, but a favorite are the guys doing 80 in a 100 zone when you can't overtake, then speed up to 120 in the overtaking zone. :

Driving from Sydney to Brisbane it' happens all the time...usually Camrys

Why? because that freeway onramp/added lane closes and has now banked up and so the patient driver on the left hand lane has caught up to those others and now can wave at them as they pass them by...
