Better off buying something classic that will appreciate rather than something new depreciating like being driven off a cliff lol!

Also better off spending your money on 'fully sick' 5-6kw Solar systems with battery packs...Never have to pay for electricity again for 25 years!

No, this thread is about the fact that you have $110,000 to spend on a car. Not you have $110,000 to spend, what would you spend it on?

Maybe that $110,000 is a windfall from your savings on electricity bills because you've installed a fully sick 5-6kw solar system with battery packs and you haven't had to pay for electricity for 25 years.

O.k lets say its windfall.... I cant see anything new appreciating much especially when new cars are MADE to disintergrate and be replaced within five years..... Something like a GT falcon or Mustang that would at least hold its value would be my pick!

C63, hell a few years old M5s can be bought for 100k.

With that sort of coin to buy a car spending it on a Holden or Ford just feels like a waste. All cars depreciate badly, if you worry too much about how much your car is going to depreciate you'll never have fun in it. Cars don't make money, they make you lose money.

M5, C63, R35GTR, maybe some sort of Ferrari, Porsche or Aston Martin. Which ever tickled my fancy after a decent test drive.

Carsales search on C63 and 3rd on the list was a 2009 model with ~25,000kms at 104888 drive away. Done and dusted in less than 30 seconds.

Lower it to a price range where the ceiling is the drive away price of a GT or Clubby and I'm rolling out with a GT. I'd take it new over any other car new or second hand.

You Kiwis are spoilt for choice on this price range. Before picking up the GT we nearly moved back to the South Island and I would have been all over an XFR instead. Couple of option with a quick search will ballpark figures. So many options

If we ever do move back to NZ for the missus I certainly wont be complaining when it comes to filling the garage.
Yeap, we're spoilt for choice so any wonder a new HSV GTS isn't all that attractive at $125,000 Kiwi plus on-roads

Crickey that Aston Martin is bloody nice
We can parallel import as you probably know with no duty or trade barriers and Corporate Cars will do me a brand spanking new 2014 model Jaguar XFR for $120,000 with indent pricing. That's just on $A100K if you guys didn't have your heavily protected industry.

If I had 110k to spend on a car, either I am rich enough to not care about depreciation. Or someone else is paying, so I wouldn't care anyway.

Hmm...

Sticking to the rules / OP:
I'd buy one of the first Australian Delivered Mustangs.

Outside the rules: I'd go classic... For that money I'd buy this:

New? For me it would be an F6-E or GT-E. Does what I want out of the box and goes fast enough for me to scare the daylights out of myself. The rest of the change would be nice for mods (probably suspension upgrades), but not all that concerned. If I was told to buy for the missus it would be an SRT-8 Grand Cherokee.

Used? E60 M5

Well for me it would either be FPV or HSV so sticking to the rules of new car and no modding I would go GTS, most complete new aussie muscle car available imo. If I could mod I would buy a new F6 and put the 40-50K left over into mods

I'd probably look for a Jag or similar with that amount of coin. If you are going to drop
$110k on a car you want to look as if it is worth that much!

VF Calais V8 for 55K, then spend another ten K hotting it up. Ultimate sleeper.

Then spend the rest on coke and hookers.

What I'd like to do:
Palatov DP4 for $90k and have a $20k DD tow car (Fiesta?)
http://www.palatov.com/cars/d4.html

What I'd probably do:
Buy an R35 GTR (after it has had it's expensive $15k major service).
