Was around Melbourne today for work, $1.65/L for 91, new servo here in Macedon Ranges - $1.559, the original servo next to it - $1.399. Servo price war! The new servo are a bunch of rude tossers so we've put up a bit of a defence and we're buying fuel from our original servo. |

Most people in reality are not saving. After a 10 year stint working at coles, and I imagine the same thing happens at safeway, people will have spent $15 to $20 on their shop and then go off and buy extra things so they can spend at least $30 so they can get the discount on their fuel. By they time they get the discount at the servo, they are out of pocket by $10 because lets say the average saving on a fill is $2. The system is a rort and people get sucked in.

We do our shopping at Aldi and buy fuel from BP and are still a long way in front of people that go to coles and woollies and get 20c/l discount dockets. |

You say BP are NOT robbing bastards!!! If Coles/Wollies put up the fuel price to cover the shopper dockets. Why do BP follow with the same price?
I filled up my Terri and 3 jerries in Melb on the 31st @$1-44.9 minus 40c/L. saving $50-30 I am sure that made my Coles, proper groceries cheaper than Aldi. |

Big Damo I'd rather somebody stealing my hose for a bong, then only 6 inches go missing at a time, not 4 foot for syphon hose. |

Aldi have effectively forced Coles and Woolies to reduce their grocery prices
We shop at Aldi for 99% of our stuff and never spend enough to get a fuel voucher at Coles or Woolies. But we get them from relos who don't have cars and so win win. Save at Aldi, same or better product than Coles, and still get cheaper fuel from Coles Express! Used a relos 15c voucher here on Sandgate Rd yesterday to fill up |

It cost roughly $650,000 per day to run an oil rig. Be thankful the pump price isn't $5 per litre!

Maybe if the oil companies open their account books to the public you will see the true picture of profits but something tells me they will never do this. |

Just had a though if almost everyone gave up the smokes we all would be paying well over $2 p/l to make up for the lost tax revenue from smokes not to mention the increase tax on alcohol. Just putting it out there!
