Sure it wasn't DeJaVu ? The chamelion colour ? It's basically a deep green with tinges of menace on different angles.

For those interested, i saw a BF XR6 N/A in octane tonight at the shops.. same place i always see weird/pre-release cars! I like the images posted ^^ up there of the GT and typhoon, but i must say the standard BF XR6 N/A didn't inspire me at all in the colour. Looked (as i said earlier from seeing the above photos) like a Brisbane ex-taxi. Image is awful since it was night time and i used the camera in my phone, but here it is anyway:

1/3 of the cars at FPV yesterday were octane, the other popular color was bionic.

I think it might be the new colour called Breeze a teal type colour coming next month. I was wondering when the colour Menace was being deleted

The only thing missing off that car is the yellowcabs stickers.

I wish they would make some nice metalic colours. the Chromaflare is being deleted :(

I saw Octane yesterday, I personally think it's horrid. I haven't been keen on these pastel colours ford seem to be releasing.

it has potential with stripes/black wheels though - the same way rapid did, and to a lesser extent bionic. Menace was just a pure mistake.

Not to mention Ego (charcoal colour) which looks fantastic.

Octane is a love-it-or-hate-it colour, a bit of an acquired taste. I don't mind it myself, it looks best with the GT stripes or black Typhoon wheels to give a bit of contrast. As a solid XR it is verging on being "too much" - some people want that though!

Breeze from the colour sample is like the old EB/ED greens, perhaps a bit lighter

*yawn* yet another boring, limited lifespan colour from Ford that looks like something my God-daughter leaves in her nappies.

Its funny how Ford stopped producing taxi pack XTs for the cabbies but happily churned (literally) out taxi yellow XRs and GTs for those who wanted to be 'different'...

If I select an XR8 for my next company car, then Octane is one of the prime candidates for choice of colour.

There's an Octane GTP in a holding yard here (TOLL yard so its on its way somewhere), looks pretty good but that was from about 100m away.

I dont think Id buy it but I certainly dont hate it.

Maybe the F6, it might have potential. I never liked Rapid, but theres something about an F6 and I like them in Rapid too.

Forgot the camera yesterday.

A comparison with Rapid and Mandarin:

It's a cloudy day so it doesn't really show the colour at its best. Although I'm not really a fan of it either.

I'm still a sucker for Mandarin though, I reckon that was one of the best colours Ford brought out.

I don't mind being one of the 'different' ones!!
Give me an Orange car anyday. I'm over the whole "it looks like a taxi" thing and actually (and fondly) refer to my car as the Taxi or V8Supercab.....
