Shame to hear man, can't imagine how you'd feel after putting so much effort into her :( Roads were very slippery tho, i've completely spun out once or twice in the past without intention due to the same conditionsn so i know how easily it can happen. Just hope this doesn't put you off modding your future car...

today im really unhappy, for the fact i went to visit the car, it wasnt the condition of the car that made me this way, just what i had to pay for it to be taken off the road back to my place 1st Tow: 205.45 Salvage: 330 (it wasnt even stuck to anything) Storage: 23.46 2nd Tow: 80 (im just down the road from where its being held) Total incl GST is 702.81 (thankfuly the peson serving me let me off for the 2.81 cents) im over the fact i had the accident, it happened, i wasnt doing anything stupit for this to happen, it was simply an accident, but to charge me this price when i asked to have it delivered to my place direct from the accident, this in outragouse i asked wheather i can come just chuck it on a trailor but the person serving me said wed have to move it out to the road to put it onto a trailor because its a health and safty issue to have a trailor in there, theres tow trucks in there already, is that not a trailor? the police said this wouldnt happened, being a weekend, FFS i live down the road from the towing yard and the accident site, not even a 1km radios between the 2 places... i dont beleve for a second thow, that the police were on my side on this thow, they were probly ****ed off with me that i had to have an accident to come out to see that it was wet, it was some p plater driver and the person who invited me into there house to care for me was drunk and talking abit stupitly... not to mention it was 3am saturday morning i feel like complaining but i dont know where to go to do this or wheather i can at all, dose it cost so much these days or was i just shafted, can anyone help me with this |

$80 for the 2nd tow sounds pretty standard.
Salvage towing is a rort though. When our commodore got stolen years ago I told the wreckers they could have it if they towed it and they still wanted $200 on top of that cos it was out of town in the scrub. |

Tow truck drivers must make a killing. After my Black Spur incident, I rang RACV roadside assist, and they said they couldn't help me because I hadn't broken down. The free towing is only for breakdowns. I then rang a tow truck company (RACV gave me the number), and I was quoted $350 to tow the car from Healsville to Oakleigh South. Thankfully there were heaps of e-series members around who helped get the car driveable again. Unfortunately accidents aren't cheap. My Black Spur incident almost sent me broke. I'm only recovering now from it.

Bad luck mate, looked like a nice car. Most important thing is you're ok and no-one else was hurt. Hopefully you can salvage most things from it.
Agree with all the comments about accident towing being expensive, when I had an accident in my old ZL, I had to get cut out of it so didn't have a say where it got towed to, and cost me alot in towing fees and paying the holding yard etc. Good luck for the future. |

Nah, a LWB will be slow and handle like crap, but they are nice to cruise in as a daily... Plus hardly anyone does anything with them, so if you do mod it, it'll be pretty unique Oh, and black LWB rocks :sm_headba
