Thats crap. Thanks for your efforts though.

The OEM ones were nice and thick.

The aftermarket ones are thin and useless. The brand new Calibre branded one from Supercrap I put on Dad's car didn't seal the gap properly. They are only half the thickness of OEM.

A new Permaseal seems to have done the trick, but is only marginally thicker than the Calibre.

I'm starting to miss all these obsolete parts.

Mr GT,

Just a stupid question out of curiosity...

How much is a genuine BF sedan cat converter, if its still available? And yes, I realise they come complete with resonator and pipe work.

If not BF, maybe an equivalent FG or SZ version?

BF cats are obsolete but were around $1000 when they were available.

FG ones are around $800 and still available.

G'day,

Im running an 06 BF RTV Ute 5.4 3v that's starting to seem a bit tired in the engine department so I'm hoping you can help me out with possible part numbers and prices i might be dealing with over the next 12 months or so. First off I'm looking at doing a full set of injectors, plugs and coils.... at this age regardless of km's it couldn't hurt right.

Secondary parts I'm considering for peace of mind are timing chains with tensioners, guide rails, gears and cam phasers as well as a set of cam followers. Fully expecting the genuine prices willl make me cringe but I'm yet to be convinced of a cheaper aftermaket alternative for most of these parts that will give me the same longevity.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Long-shot but can we still get the windscreen wiper motor and the bonnet squirter nozzles for a AU II Falcon?

Mine are...anaemic and it's more a low-pressure dribble...

Hi GT,

I know this has probably been asked 1000 times, but just wondering what is still available in terms of shadow grey interior roof bits for FG/FG-X sedan? I also do understand that most of it is obsolete, but any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Try rockauto for some of those parts. Heaps cheaper than what you will get them from here. You will need to use F150 as the search vehicle though.

And no need to replace the injectors, just take them off and take them to an EFI specialist who can clean them and replace the seals.

Only a few bits and pieces not enough to make up a whole kit that is. You would be better finding a wrecked FGX and swapping it all over.

Thanks for a speedy reply GT,

I would still be interested in what is still available new, could you please give me a list on what is currently available?

Also is the little button that you press to adjust the seat belt height available as a separate shadow grey part? or is it part of the belt assembly? As I have the plastic shroud that goes around it, but not the button itself.

Thanks again!

Hey GT. Wondering if you could find out how much a turbo costs for a 2.0 Ecoboost engine, and also the part #? (2015 FGX G6E)

I presume Ford supply a complete unit only, but if there's other options available please let me know.

Appreciate it!

Hi,

Part number for the turbocharger assembly is BR2Z6K682BE. Whole turbo only as you will find with most applications. Maybe you can check with a turbo rebuilder or the alike that sell turbos to see if they do what you need. Price from Ford is usually $2400, I can get for $2090 plus freight if need be.

Actually what specific part of the turbo were you after if not the whole assembly.

Image below shows whole assembly and the other turbo related components you can get through Ford.

Thanks for the reply! It's the old rattling wastegate / future loss of boost problem, and based on the diagram the wastegate and actuator look to be part of the main assembly.

It is supposed to be fixed by the used car dealer under stat warranty, but since they'll likely fit a second hand unit I'm considering buying a new one and paying them the difference. Any ideas what a S/H unit may be worth?

There is one on eBay for $1100.

Second hand is always a risk when you dont know what your getting, could be worse than yours???
