Just called the number and they will call me back.

Like all collectibles this will make the erroneous plates more valuable one day :

Hi All
Just rang and Ill think youll find there is not going to be a 7th plate, its only a missprint on the '69 plate. It should have been an XW photo not an XY.
But good work all the same and thanks for letting us know.

Thought you guys would appreciate me sharing it with you. Not sure if the guy who posted the info over on ACF is a member here or not but thought I would get it up as soon as I'd confirmed it as the run will probably be limited and wanted the enthusiasts to be the ones to benefit.

I forgot to mention the girl I spoke to (without me asking) said they weren't sure if the supplier was going to request the old XW with the XY picture back. What's people's opinions on here, would you do it or keep it for the misprint factor?

I have a full set of 6 of these plates and will raffle them off along with a few other prizes at the Kedron All Ford Day comming up on the 20 September. So If you missed out on a set, it may be a chance to get a set for just a few bob.

I got my set also and believe they are great value. There is also something wrong with the bonnet scoops on the Xc Cobra, they should look like the Xb ones.

the XC is also missing the front gaurd extentions, the grill and bumper is out of proportion and the side indicator looks bodgy. shame when they got the others pretty right.

also noticed the XB has lost its hub caps.

Unsurprisingly, it's the same pic for the Cobra that Ford use for their other marketing ventures (ie. T-shirts).

A tad tragic really, I think more effort could have gone into these.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the Cobra was also noted as a GT on the plate. Gave me a laugh or two.

Check on ebay at the moment, someones selling the whole set on there (all seperate) for $10 each. I know its $5 more than the retail price, but if it was me that was after them i'd pay that for sure! _2:

Received today:

To the purchasers of the 1969 XW GT number plate sold at Coles Express Service Stations. Please be advised that the incorrect illustration of the 1971 XY GT has been used on this number plate. Please contact Tegan@newmaninternationalgroup.com, stating your name, address and the date you purchased the number plate and we will organise for a replacement number plate to be sent out to you. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. Please note, we are unsure on timings at this present stage of when you will receive this correct number plate.

If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see on future ranges of collector’s number plates, we would appreciate your feedback.

So if you haven't got a receipt for your original purchase you're stuffed? I'm gonna hit the roof if that's the case.

I just emailed them anyway. If they're asking for an address to send the replacement to I hardly think they're going to ask for the receipt.

I just got a response too. Mine says nothing about sending receipts back.

For those who haven't got a response, this is exactly what I got:

error.

At this stage we are unsure on timings of when the number plate will be

So it looks like only people requesting multiple replacements are being asked for their receipts, since that line was missing from my email.

I was not asked for a receipt in the reply email I got from Tegan.(same as Riksta's)
Mind you I did state in my original email that I only had one XW plate (in the set I purchased). I was even upfront saying that I didn't have a receipt, as I wasn't given one at the time of sale.
Instead I sent a picture of the plate, along with date, time & location of where it was purchased.

Would the reprinted plate be more valuable in the future as one would have to go to some trouble to get their hands on one, and also a lot of people would not be aware of the mistake so would not follw up and request one ?
