From BHDogs..FORD have been unable to guarantee they will still be producing cars in Australia in 2016, an MP whose Victorian state electorate houses one of the company's factories says.
So, they will only produce the FH for 12=18 months ???? I don't think so. But I hope so...
IF I was in the market for a large car, it would be a Calais V its value for money...Might not have the Falcon build quality,,but its value for the money...small car " Hyundai Elite i30. for the same reason. The FH MUST match or come close to the VF for value or it will be a hard sell. Around same time as FH, VF Mk 2 will be out...interesting days ahead!!!

It looks like those who manage to get their hands on a FH maybe quite lucky and have a relatively rare car.

When is the (American made?) Territory replacement due.
That will have a large bearing into when the plant will close.
Ford CAN NOT afford to be without this type of vehicle for an extended period of time.

Remember the walking fingers. That was a pearly wasn't it.The amount of bad publicity that Ford has copped over the last ten years was never addressed.Ever! People can bag on Holden as much as they like for the spin they put out there. How many Commodores have sold in the last few years compared to Falcon? How many Holdens have sold compared to Ford's?
I remember a few years ago when FOA were sprouting they were looking to gain 13 percent of the Australian market. How much market share do Ford have currently? Sorry but these are cold hard facts......

Lets not confuse PR and marketing.

But this thread is after all about Broady production not Fords PR department that have at least made an effort to reach out to us as a forum. Back on topic?

I agree, why they persist with that bloody Mondeo name is mind boggling. Call it Fusion, bring in the new model and then sit back and observe +1000 sales a month.

Another thing that I'm sick of hearing are supply issues of imported models. BS. Ford will sell as many as people want to buy. Fact is, EcoSport should be selling more, Fiesta should be selling more.

1000 sales a month from a Mondeo/Fusion?
Err what planet are we on again...

Even Mazda's large car sells less than 500 a month, IMO that figure proves you wont sell any more than that

And its a bit hard to bring in the new model when the new model isnt even being built yet.

That fusion is also pretty much what the front and back of the FH will look like from all reports.

Most American car I've ever seen.

Front looks like a big fish that's in the process of swallowing a school of small chrome fish

I'm going to miss Falcon

New Mondeo/Fusion is not yet made in Europe, where we get our Mondeo from.
So where do you propose we get them from?

A good example of what you are saying is Jefferson Motors used to be Ford only but now have only one new Ford dealership in Mentone. The rest are Toyota, Hyundai & Mitsubishi that I know of so that shows he could see the writing on the wall that sticking to one make dealerships is not the best option to stay in business.

Good one! Maybe I just know the difference between what a marketing team does and what the tasks are of a public affairs department. While you're drawing that long bow, why don't you just blame me for not putting a gun to customers heads in a bid to force them into a falcon. Seriously dude, go get a spiked glove and get a good grip of yourself.

Fusion sounds good too. I believe they should have named the Kuga Escape instead. I think most males would discount the Kuga just cause of the name. Middle aged women might flock to it though.

LOL. Your a funny man.You can stick it to me as much as you want but the reality is Ford's PR have let the brand down big time. Ignore it at your peril...

I would have thought that people on a ford forum in general would be the biggest advocates for FORD.

Reading through not only this post but many of the other posts on this site bagging Ford Australia and Ford Dealers it makes me think its not just PR and Marketing that are the issue.

Don't confuse Ford Oz with Detroit.
Local management must have had a frustratingly difficult time trying to do so much with so little support.

I"m as blue as they come mate but I am very frustrated and angry at what Ford Australia has let itself fall to. Brand perception is everything,Ford is on the nose. Why? Whose job is it to ensure negatives are controlled and counter balanced. This has nothing to do with the poor marketing strategies they have employed for so long but obviously it doesn't help.If a brand is on the nose marketing won't help.

You only have to look at the pathetic job they did with the FPV closure announcement, trying to say it was brilliant because the XR8 was returning instead.

Whoever thought that was a great idea should be instantly fired.
