We do everything in our family Dual cab and manage just fine, to kill the boredom we count how many sedans we pass on the open road looking down on the owners who look up at us wishing they had one!

So yes they are a jack of all trades. Now depending how you look at it, you can either take that as a good thing or a bad thing. |

Everyone to their own I suppose, I found the Ranger an exceptionally excellent vehicle after owning an FG XR6 ute, did like the FG but the Ranger is more versatile for my needs, no regrets.. PS: Ranger easily craps on the competition. Cheers. |

What part of my previous post did you not understand, I wasn't insulting you or your family, so stop being such a cry baby Again... I was making a sweeping generalisation to highlight the idiocy of some other posts regarding dual cab utes. This obviously went way over your head. My last word on the matter if you want to keep playing the victim go right ahead, life is too short to be offended by comments on the interwebz |

I'm off to Torquay this weekend, taking a car fridge, 3 bicycles(front wheels removed to fit in the canopy) 2 surfboards, some tools, and bags for 4 people, oh, and the 4 people, can someone please recommend a car that will carry all this crap for me, be comfortable, and do 9.3 lt per 100.
If not, I'll take my Ranger dual cab.

My wife and I do long trips. Recently, Bris, Syd, Melb via coast, inland return. Our next one (Feb/Mar) will be Bris - Perth return. Do I want to bang over there in your ute? Well, no I don't. My Calais V will do the job admirably. It sounds as though we each have the vehicle that suits us best. Well done, us

Go to Germany...Mercedes Benz models that here in Australia grace the carparks of company executives are over there just used as ordinary family cars and taxis. |

Where else do you put your surfboards, mine are always on the roof rack regardless of the type of vehicle. Gone are the days of wagons with wind down rear windows and the board sticking out the back.

I was wondering that myself...and trying to remember the last time a "passenger car-based wagon" was made in Australia that had wind-down rear windows (because a board won't fit in a Commodore or Falcon wagon either). Would it be way back with the XC for Falcon and the Kingswood for Holden...? I can't think of any others later than them...

It's slightly quicker 0-100 and over the quarter and has returned 8.6 l/100 km. It wasn't cheap (similar to a Territory Titanium) but we love it and it's a keeper. Cheers Russ

Very true, but I prefer the new dual cab utes than lugging a trailer around these days. Cheers. |
