I'd be buying her great gifts. Firstly just to show to myself that I was NOTHING like that.

Second, to give you must first feel you have, so she obviously really feels she lacks, and she desperately wants "to have" She'd appreciate the gift, despite not saying so.

Lastly, she's old and worth a bomb, and she has to pick someone to leave money to.....

Christmas is just such a great excuse to give. It's worth it all just for that. I appreciate the disapproval of the commercial side of it all, but I reckon you missed out on more than you think. Still each to their own...

Ummmm what'd I end up with.

Bonnet pin kit for the XB, now I've just gotta get the holesaw out and attack the bonnet...fun.
New lenses for the XB dash, will be able to see the bloody speedo now.
Reno 911! Season 1 and 2. Absolute ****er of a show.
Flying High DVD, one of the High Octane DVDs. Gonna have to borrow it to see it first, probably full of rice.
Bunch of clothes, like usual.
Bit of cash.
New pillows. Bit of a pointer to everyone out there, DON'T open your christmas presents with a knife (I was lazy alright). Yeah I'm sure that one paints itself.

Most families don't sit round the Christmas tree armed with knives! Well I thought most didn't, I could be mistaken.!

We've tried that. We bought her nice things that we would have liked to receive, but she just palmed them off onto other people. She never unwraps her presents with the rest of us on Christmas day. That way they are still good to give to someone else.

She has, and she knows it. But she doesn't want other people to know. Including her family. She's trying to convince us all she has dementia now, but thats bulldust. Tell her she owes $$$$ in land tax, and she'll tell you exactly when, where and to whom she handed over the cheque.
If she felt that she was lacking love from her family, then maybe she should keep her mouth shut a little more often.
Telling me at my 18th AND 21st that I was fat and would never find a husband looking the way I do - in front of all my family and friends is not the way to go about it.
She's RUDE and condescending and never fails to put you down at any chance she gets.

Quite seriously, all I've ever wanted from her was her love. But apparently that is too much to ask from her. She is incapable of it. NEVER once has she told me she loves me, or given me a hug.
My father has often said she was the same when he was growing up.
She can leave her millions to the dogs home for all I care. I don't want any of it.
We're sure that she's not going until she can work out a way to take it with her.
She is bipolar, but that doesn't explain all of it. Just her aggressiveness.

And I thought the missus' grandparents were bad. They refused to go to the family shindig because it was on boxing day, meaning it was pointless. I don't think anyone was complaining though.

Don't you see the opportunity?

You can gift wrap empty boxes or even fill them with used torch batteries and if never opened the thought counts at a discount spend! :

Yeah, but then there is the possibility of us getting them back the next year, or for birthdays or whatever, and so they keep going...

Myer vouchers
An alarm clock (cos I never get out of bed in the morning)
Books
Voucher for a facial and massage
Jewellery
and my beautiful bf gave me the sexiest lingerie that I have been told I am not allowed to wear at any time I am not with him.

I bought myself a lovely 20GB Creative Zen in Black.

Then I got these assorted goodies as well!

From the Family:
Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels DVD
Madagascar DVD
The Pacifier DVD
Something’s Gotta Give DVD
NIN – With Teeth (Dentures) CD
Danielle Steel Book – Toxic Bachelors
Photo Box
A Purse
Jewellery Box
Miniature window plants in window box
2 x movie passes.
$50 Bunning’s voucher
Lip Gloss (Mulberry Glow my favourite!)
A Necklace.

From Work: A leg of ham and a $200 Westfield Voucher.

I feel very spoilt!

I can't wait for Andy to finish putting all my cd's onto the Zen.
I have named my Zen "Ion"
A few CD's left with only 1.7GB left. Eeeeek!

You are right Santa doesnt exist. Send five payments of $49.95 to me and I will explain why, that is a saving of $39 over what you would pay in the shops, during our Christmas sale. If you send your money before new years day (Romans screwed that one up, but thats another story) and I will give you a free bible with your order and put you on my christmas card list.

What i dont understand about your post is if you didnt get anything or give any thing or you dont even believe that he exists, why are you posting, keep it to yourself. It is the general all round spirit of a couple of weeks that there is some sort of peace, love maybe i battle or war being fought somewhere will stop for one day because of the spirit of christmas.Geez do you have to bring everyone down. :

I think most of us know it's commercialised to no end, but at the end of the day most people have a great time. Sure I spent a lot of money and am broke now, but giving presents to the ones I love brings a smile to my face, especially when you know they like it. Not to mention the thoughtful gifts I received, the laughs I shared with my family, the food and drinks, and then finishing the night sinking more Coopers with my best mate.

Christmas has been getting better every year for me, I'm already looking forward to the next one - I just hope the person I love most isn't overseas this time :(
