For the first time in nearly four decades, I did NOT watch the Bathurst 1000. It was a deliberate decision. I don't give a **** about Mustangs or Opels so I didn't waste a whole day in front of the TV watching a race I no longer give a **** about.
There was a time I wouldn't have missed one second of this race..........

Me four, had tears of joy seeing that amazing finish! Didn't expect to enjoy this as much as when the Falcon was the car being raced, but damn.

Clearly it did otherwise I would not have posted it in the "What made you feel good today?" thread. I am free at last of the hordes which once bound me. The battle has been lost. The war is over. Time to move on.

Listening to the original cut of Superstition, after it's been an earworm for the last couple of days. Totally dig that riffing on the Clavinet.

I walk my dog everyday through parklands where I live. In those moments when she stops to sniff around as dogs do, I pass the time by looking down and try to find a four leaf clover among the many clover patches around my feet. Google tells me the odds of finding a four leaf clover is around 1 in 10,000. Over the years and much searching, I have never found one, but I believe if you keep searching for something with persistence, eventually you will find what you seek. Well, today, I managed to find not one but three of them! What are the chances or odds of that happening on the same day? I have just finished laminating them and will carry them in my wallet. Let's see if Irish superstitious luck will come my way. Maybe my string of bad luck over the last few years is about to end? Time to buy a few lottery tickets I think! |

Have stuff going on in my personal life and in that place of mulling a solution but its all a foggy dark Rubik cube.
Take time from work in morning, go to OPSM to complain about specialised shading coating on my glasses rubbing off after 16 months- warranty job replacement- that made me feel sorta bleh good. But then, I got an itch, went to JB Hi Fi, bought a best of Eagles 2 CD compilation, driving in to work, all windows down, beautiful 23 degree sunny day outside no humidity, playing my favourites while driving my FGX XR8 to work, including Hotel California and Life in the Fast Lane, car felt crisp and tight with the new Michelins on rear. Not driving fast, just enjoying the mechanical feel blended in with the awesome songs which sounded great on the Hertz speakers. For that 15 minutes I felt free and had the happiness I had when 20 driving my Mk 11 Cortina GT with some mods and all was running well. Funny- sometimes the simple things bring that much needed burst of light.

Every October I get my car insurance renewal stuff and every year is more expensive than the last ( even though I’ve never had a claim where I’ve been at fault ) and every year I ring up and attempt to negotiate a cheaper price and usually get around $100 off, except for this year, the missus told me she was gunna have a crack, she managed to get it down by $400, almost 25%..

Ahhh, filled out the stupid psych assesment thing work sent out. I did it after my apprentice. It was just bs and asked for honesty. So it was 12 rounds of 4 statements. It was some bs about leadership and confidence. So you select the statement that you feel best represents yourself, and the statement that least represents yourself. Example. Round 1. Takes direction, takes control of decisions, likes to socialize, hates decision making. It got a lot more in depth. But my apprentice was honest and being a 1st year, doesnt take the reigns yet so his result was he was not a leader and lacked confidence. Well, 1st year, thats pretty much correct for such a quiz and he was honest. I went ham on the bs quiz. Work send me bs, ill just have fun with that. Apparently i show leadership skills and confidence. So i went for the strongest answer for what portrays me regardless, and the weakest for what does not. So yeah, i bs'd their bs quiz. The only not the strongest answer i went with for personality was purely an egotistical statement that will deffinately show work im having a laugh. As the strong statement i selected 'easily attracts others'. Ive worked there for 13 years. Work know me well enough. My manager has come out on my boat, my boss has met my kid. Maybe its others they want to evaluate, but, i just had fun taking the ****.

I dismantled an entire car this week just ending. Looking back it was a bit of madness and hard yakka mashed up together.
Next week is "sorting through the pile". |
