Bought a tool which bolts to the harmonic balancer on my 318 and uses a 1/4" drive breaker bar to allow you to hold it and stop it rotating. Using a 1.5m long bar attached to the balancer nut I was finally able to losen it ..
With a 1/4" drive rattle gun it wouldn't budge.

Have you any info about the tool you bought?
Is it a universal fit, price and where to buy one?
Sounds interesting as I need to replace the front seal on my vct 6

Firstly .. Mucked up .. It's 1/2" drive not 1/4" ..

Unfortunately it's a Mopar V8 only thing, but this should show you basically what it looks like ..

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....0#ht_764wt_689

This was a last resort for me. You might be able to get it undone with a rattle gun?

Replaced a faulty voltage regulator on the Porsche and went for a long fast drive.

Washed a decade of dust off the GT and fitted new wheels/tyres

Also started cleaning up the F150 for RWC. New universal seat cover that fits a rear bronco seat fits the front of the F150 alright.

Tried to get my GT running after years in storage, and failed. Plenty of spark, looks to be a stuffed fuel pump. Although even a bit of fuel down the carb barely got a cough.

Finally painted the front aggressor/rebel pods that I got 2 months ago.

All I need to do now is wait for 5-7 days and I will give them a polish and wax.

Also did the green slip, pink slip and rego gig.

It is costing me more to register and insure a standard 6 cyl auto family sedan than it cost to register and insure a modified 6 cyl turbo charged manual import, how the hell does that work...........

At least Im getting around 600 klm per tank in the Ford as apposed to the 300 I was getting in the Nissan.

Although whilst the Nissan had 400ish KWATW the stock BF XR6 only has around 140ish apparently.

I am enjoying the extra comfort and fuel economy in the Ford but I am missing being able to drive to the track or the strip and having a few quick hot laps or a good hard run at the strip.

On a side note, I still haven't found a chassis to start my new project on, the money people are asking or paying for small RWD chassis is bordering on insane.

I blame all the flat cap wearing kids (waves fist in the air)

took the VX out of hiding to get some cheap fuel down the road ($1.12 E10), then washed it and took it to the shops and the alternator died....so $270 later (parts and fuel) and it goes back to taking up space in the driveway again.

I said good morning to the XR6 ute and told it that it could have a rest today as I was going to test the fridge I'm selling. The GT Corty got a longing look but at least a lot of gearbox parts turned up today. I think that's all of them so it shouldn't be long and the right box will be back in.

Gave it a good wash and vacuum, and then discovered a screw in one of the tyres. 1st swearing moment of the day.

What I didn't do was put a big scrape in the front grille insert (plastic metallic grey bit my number plate sits on). Somebody else did that for me (and put a scrape in my scooter muffler too, but its already pretty scratched up). Second (and arguably bigger) swearing moment of the day. On the upside, possible excuse to get a different insert for the grille, so that's a possible silver lining!

I replaced the switch for my brake lights.
Repaired the wiring for the boot and number plate lights and re-wired in a new set of horns.
Then I drove it.

Ran the LTD up on the ramps and tightened up a loose manifold flange . Aint that top bolt on the left bank a doosy. Anyhow, I never knew how much of a difference it makes when one bank is off song. Slight leak at the flange made a big difference to how she runs.

Back in love again. 90ish kph in first. Man that sounds sweeeeeet.!!!!!!
