I'm tipping the pricing will steal a few potential SS buyers now. Only the hardcore faithful Holden buyers would take a redline over the XR8 now.

Yeah you just can't beat the factory S/C car at that price. The SS is now just an also ran in the performance stakes.

It is funny how FPV GT owners sook like little school girls when the owner of old school GT doesn't acknowledge their car......but are only too happy to bag F6s, XR6Ts and now XR8s

Let's face it how is a GTF or GTP or GTE a GT?

Is a GTS a GT too?

I don't think anyones bagging anyone, they make a valid point.

The XR8 might not be a GT by name, but it is an Rspec in disguise.

Since 1967 the GT has been the benchmark for Ford performance, no K code GS got close to a P3 GTHO.
That's all about to change with the FGX XR8 as with a simple tune it will come down to driver ability.

When the GTS was released at $95k the first thing you heard was how many mods could be done to the GT with the price difference.
Well, the same applies here.

Who wants to be the first GTF owner to get touched up on the 1/4 by an XR8...

You can't blame the late model GT owners for reacting in different ways, their icon model is now an inferior product compared to the XR8.

I think the only ones reacting negatively are you guys, I'm comfy, pretty sure most other gt owners are to. Bit rough trying to pick a fight. Also a bit rough calling the Gt inferior. I'll leave you guys here as it's clear you don't want to discuss you just want to stir rubbish.

I'm glad I didn't stretch to 65k-70k for a GT earlier this year. The XR8 is an absolute bargain and if I was car shopping there would be no other choice, but I paid $60k on road for an F6 with 6/4 Brembos, and I still consider that to be a steal.

The spec of the XR8 is bloody awesome for people who prefer mechanical goodness over folding wind mirrors and heated seats.

It would be great if I could get a set of the new wheels (for the OE 9" rears) and Sync2 into my F6 though!

Spot on, I should have said that, the fact that the FGX XR8 is the last V8 Ford sedan is what will make it an historically important motor car!

It annoys me to think that while Falcon sales are down, they go and release models which everybody wants, but then limit supply.

Looks like deja vu, with the FGX XR8 now set to follow the path of the GT-F.

Maybe some hawkers will be good enough to on-sell them for a $20k+ profit to those who missed out?

Define sooking for me, plenty of posts where I've said XR8 is a fantastic buy. What you are doing is aggressive and unnecessary, good day to you.

If you think "sooking" is responding to direct questions posed to gt owners with "I'm comfy" you have an odd definition of the word.

Exceptional value. Well done Ford.

I would be surprised to see much in the way of price gouging with the XR8, although we will probably see undriven GTFs still on the market well into next year because potential sugar daddy buyers have well and truly moved on

Just got back from my dealer and deposit is down for an auto/kinetic for a mid 2015 delivery. I could of jumped the gun a little but didn't want to be up "said" creek without a paddle and no V8 falcon in the shed.

As people have said, couldn't put it in the system but priced it as XR8 mlp? + onroads etc as per a G6E turbo. (apparently) Paperwork I have puts it a smidge over 60k, which seems about right to me. What does everyone else think?

Now I just have to wait.....

On a side note there was a white GTF on the showroom floor. Man, that is an awesome looking motor. First time i've seen in the flesh.....very impressed.

Sounds right, dealer told me a bit over 60k for the auto on the road and Mar or later delivery next year, they also had one other deposit on one.

My dealership told me the same thing yesterday
Ford are only building 1200 XR8's.
46 a month
They will be getting, on average,
3 XR8's every 4 months

Does the XR8 pricing mean Ford have stopped price gouging? The XR8 is really a GT by another name and substanially cheaper..

Don't take it personally, it's just a good old fashion pub stir.
You've got the last of the GT's, stick it back to them.

2k deposit.

I think i had read some people were putting down 1k, but it doesn't make much difference in the long run.

Glad to see people are getting similar priced quotes. Always good to be well informed, and thanks to the forum we are.

If I won lotto, I would get one of these, in Kinetic, and automatic. I'm too lazy to drive a manual these days lol.

BFB, very good value for money IMHO. Yet to see one driving around? obviously there are cars around at the moment..
