Total forum views now sit at 333,851,156 - well they did when these figures were compiled last night. First up the high level overview where we can see that a considerably higher 39.2% (or 131 million) of our total views have been in the General forum areas followed by Club & Speciality with a much lower 28.45% and Ford Passenger vehicles a distant third with an also lower 15.15%. General topics is still dominated by the Pub with an increased 57.9% of views (76.9 million), followed by the Bar (also up to 26.6%) and Show'n'Shine (4.9%). Car clubs still sees ORSM Cruisers holding a very narrow lead with 15.1% of the views followed by the Coupe Club (15.1%) and, somewhat surprisingly, the Mid North Coast club with an improved 8.0%. To show how close, the actual figures are it is 2,223,799 for ORSM against 2,223,356 for the Coupe Club. The community car clubs jumbles the order a lot although it is a close run thing with B-Series (29.4% and 23.56 million views) retaking the lead from AU Falcon (29.2%) and OzE in third with 27.9%. The passenger segment is still dominated by Territory with a lower 34.0% of the views (17.1 million) followed by Performance with 27.5% and Falcon with an improved 22.9%. The workshop remains dominated by Cleveland with 22.4% (2.94 million) of the views followed by LPG (11.6%) and Windsor (9.4%). Cheers Russ

Annual Statistics
HITS Annual hits (the number of server requests made by users) increased by 8% during 2013 to almost 912 million. PAGES Annual pages served, increased by 35.2% to 611.6 million or about triple what it was five years ago. VISITS Annual visits increased by 106.4% to almost 55.1 million which is fairly easy to see when looking at the average on-line users which has increased substantially during this year. Bandwidth Despite the increased activity we have managed to contain bandwidth utilisation to fractionally less than 2012 at 14.86 Tb which shows the gains made by the use of caching for frequently requested pages. Cheers Russ

It's once again time to look at the Tech article utilisation during 2014.
The first chart shows the Top 30 all-time views where there are two notable new entries in the Top 5 but the top spot still being held by the same article that has led the last 3 years. The next chart shows the articles in positions 31-60. Of course, those numbers favour articles that have been around longer as they have obviously had more time to accumulate views so the chart below looks at the most viewed articles for this last year. In total there were just over a quarter of a million views of the Tech articles during 2014, a 12% increase over 2013. Cheers Russ

Latest update to the forum posts.
Summary The first two charts look at the overall top level category headings in raw numbers and percentage. As usual, the General area dominates with 30.22% of all posts (down slightly), ahead of the Ford Passenger 21.79% (up one place) and Club/Speciality with 18.95% (down one place) sections. General Topics Still dominated by the Pub with a slightly improved 46.0% of the posts in this area, followed by The Bar (23.5% and slightly down) and everything else a distant place holder. Club This section is still led by ORSM Cruisers (down slightly to 20.9%) ahead of the Ford Coupe Club (up signifcantly to 19.4%) and the FPV/XR Club of ACT (up a point to 10.6%). Forum based car clubs This continues to be led by OzECruisers (down to 33.4%), ahead of AU Falcon (up to 28.5%) and B-Series (up to 25.9%). Passenger Cars This section (after some changes were made to the format) is now led by Territory (down to 13.7%) ahead of FPV F6, XR6T (13.5%) with the former leading FPV and Boss Powered (down to 12.5%) now 3rd. Workshop This area is dominated by Cleveland with 22.7% of the posts followed by LPG (11.0%) and Ford 6 (10.5%) - all fractionally up except Ford 6.

Total forum views now sit at 400,954,589 - well they did when these figures were compiled last night. That's 67 million more than (roughly) the same time last year. First up the high level overview where we can see that a higher 40.81% ( 163.6 million) of our total views have been in the General forum areas followed by Club & Speciality with a much lower 26.24% (105.2 million) and Ford Passenger vehicles a distant third with a slightly higher 15.57% (62.4 million). General topics is still dominated by the Pub with an increased 58.4% of views (95.5 million), followed by the Bar which is down slightly to 26.1% (42.7 million) with the 3rd spot held by Show'n'Shine with 4.9% of the total (8 million). Car clubs see ORSM Cruisers losing the lead with 14.9% (2.5 million) of the section to the Coupe Club with 15.5% (2.63 million) and the Mid North Coast club with a steady 7.9% (1.34 million). The Community car clubs section is a close run thing with B-Series 29.6% (26.07 million) retaining the lead from AU Falcon with 29.2% (25.79 million) with OzE in third and a fractionally lower 27.6% share (24.3 million). The Passenger segment is still dominated by Territory with a lower 30.7% of the views (19.16 million) followed by Performance with an improved 28.3% (17.4 million) then Falcon with an improved 24.9% (15.5 million). The Workshop remains dominated by Cleveland with a lower 20.41% (3.3 million) of the views followed by LPG with 11.6% (1.78 million) and Driveline (1.61 million) with 9.4% to displace Windsor. I'll round out this summary with a (lengthy) table that compares this year against 2013 by individual forum and section. In terms of individual forums the biggest percentage gains were made by: FPV Tickford Club WA (+71.6%) Sales Yard (+48.7%) 4 x 4 & Boating (+48.3%) Driveline (+43.7%) The only minus result was caused by the split of Ranger out of the Utes and Vans segment. Cheers Russ

I've been trying but ever since I upgraded Office to 2016, the spreadsheet used for those stats does open but doing anything in it is so painfully slow that I've not bothered.
I might try breaking it up into smaller chunks although it is smaller than some others I use that work fine. Cheers Russ

Spreadsheet issues sorted this year, so here are the first set of 2016 statistics.
Tech Article Views This first graph looks at the most viewed articles (since we started the tech portal). The second graph looks at the most read articles in 2016 ... .. and the final one in this series looks at the fastest growing articles for 2016. Cheers Russ

The next round of stats for 2016.
The first pair of graph is a high level view of which parts of the forum contribute to the post count total (in raw numbers and percentage). The next graph takes a closer look at the breakdown in the 'General' section of the forum which is dominated by The Pub (at 46%) and The Bar (with 23.5%). Next is the breakdown of the Ford Passenger vehicles section - a much closer race with Territory/Everest ahead of FPVF6/XR6T and an even smaller margin back to AU/BF. The Workshop is still dominated by Cleveland with LPG taking over 2nd spot from Ford 6. Cheers Russ

Next up are the forum view statistics. Current total views are at 477.9 million with 76.9 million this year.
The first charts are the high level raw number and percentages again. Next is the breakdown of the General section, which makes up more than 40% of all views and where more than half the views in the area are in The Pub and everything else is way behind. Next is the Ford Passenger segment, where the Territory/Everest section just narrowly beats Performance with Falcon in third spot. Next is The Workshop which is led by Cleveland with LP and Driveline close behind. Finally, the forum based car clubs where AU Falcon leads from B-Series and OzECruisers. Cheers Russ

Finally (for tonight), the growth in views by section as a percentage. The Workshop (49.5%) and Motorsport (42.8%) led the way with Ford Passenger (35.2%) in third.
Cheers Russ PS: Before anyone comments, the totals don't add up as there are three other areas hidden in the table above.

The final one for this year.
Post Activity These figures are not directly comparable with the earlier years after we changed the way these were measured in 2014 in order to provide a more balanced view. Post numbers are up by 36% compared to 2015 with ~300k total for the year which is a reversal of the drop last year but still slightly behind the 2014 levels. This aligns with the overall trend where we are becoming more of a read resource as the overall forum views continue to grow at about 20% per annum and pages served grew by 17.2% in 2016. Cheers Russ

Hey Russ,
Echo Beastie's comments. Just wanted to point out that in post #162, it appears you have used the "Biggest Growth 2016" graph in lieu of the "most read" graph, and the "most read" graph has been used in lieu of the "most viewed" graph. Awesome job!

Registrations are still running around the same level as prior to the closure but more of them are from overseas markets where the Ranger is sold.
Most of the activity based stats actually decreased over 2017-2019 by about 12% but increased to above pre closure levels in 2020-22.

On a serious note, tho, covid would have impacted on that. People had more time to be inline looking for info and entertainment.
